  3.      Even  if  your software had Ymodem-G and Xmodem-G, it often  will  not

  5. allow  you to pick that as an option if the connection is not made, or  set

  7. to use MNP / V42(bis). One of those protocols is required when Ymodem-G  or

  9. Xmodem-G  is used, as those two protocols have NO Error correction, so  the
  10.  
  11. modem must be doing the error checking with MNP4 or V42.
