  1. 4-6-94                                Using Faxman
  2.  
  3.      Faxman must be loaded to send or rec'v a fax (you can put the line  in
  4. your autoexec.bat to load automatically)
  5.                                                    C:\MTEZ>faxman

  7. If you get an Error and it doesn't load check the Faxman Setup. Set USE EMS
  8. to YES in SETUP, and Faxman will use EMS if available.
  9.                                                     C:\MTEZ>setup

  11. and  see if the port is set correctly there. When Faxman is loaded  you  do
  12. not have to do anything else to recv a fax. (but you must NOT be in MTEZ in
  13. data mode, or AutoAnswer or Host). >>> If you want only to SEND faxes, then
  14. in CAS Setup, set number of Rings to 0 (zero).

  16. *    >>>  If  Faxman  isn't loaded you cannot change TYPE  in  the  dialing
  17. directory  to FAX. If EMS is enabled Faxman will load most of itself  there
  18. if the option is checked in SETUP, saving conventional memory.
  19.  
  20.  In  theory, Faxman will receive faxes or send scheduled faxes  in  the
  21. background  when you're in another application. You will have to test  this
  22. with  YOUR applications. Some are processor and/or memory 'hungry' and  the
  23. fax may fail...

  25. C:\MTEZ>faxman /r
  26.  
  27. will  remove  Faxman. Faxman must be removed if you are  expecting  a  DATA
  28. call  incoming.  You  will have to remove POPPRINT or  NITELINE  or  NOTIFY
  29. before  FAXMAN,  if they were loaded too. NOTIFY tells you a fax  has  been
  30. rec'vd.

  32.      I  suggest you set RINGs in CAS setup C:\MTEZ>setup to 6 or more,  and
  33. manually  answer  fax (when you pick up the phone & hear the  fax  'beeps')
  34. with the 'hotkey' <ctrl><alt>A.  OR set RINGs to 0 for no-answer (you  have
  35. a fax machine on the same line).

  37.      NITELINE is used (loaded after Faxman) when you will be away from  the
  38. computer  and want faxes printed as they are recv'd. It is not a good  idea
  39. to  use NITELINE during the day (unless the PC is dedicated to fax)  as  it
  40. ties up the PC quite a lot.
