  2.                              Using Compuserve

  5.      In  your phone directory of your software, enter the CIS  phone-number
  6.  
  7. for  your  local node (see the CIS booklet) and set the settings  for  that
  8.  
  9. number,  speed (BPS 1200 2400, for 2400 V42bis 9600, for V32  19,200),  and
  10.  
  11. E(ven), 7, 1 where the N(one), 8, 1 are now for that entry.
  12.  
  13.      Call  CIS from the phonebook. When you get a CONNECT, press  <Ctrl>  C
  14.  
  15. (Mac Control-C) and it will ask for ID, Type your CIS ID then press [Enter]
  16.  
  17. then  your  password and press [enter]. Once you are on CIS there  will  be
  18.  
  19. menus to follow.

  21.      CIS  has  1200  numbers, 2400 numbers and v32  (9600..)  numbers.  The
  22.  
  23. slower ones are cheaper to use.
  24.  
  25.      If  you need help with your modem, once on CIS you can GO ZOOM to  get
  26.  
  27. to the Zoom forum. Once there, press 2 (for messages) and when it asks  for
  28.  
  29. a section, 8 is the ZOOM section.
