Voting Booth v1.21
Just to let you know, I did some minor changes and I think it is better
then it was before. If you have any suggestion, you can post this in
DOVENET under the Synchronet Fact and Fiction sub or get a hold of me
as listed in the VB121.DOC. So, lets get on with the show.
I should also added that this version fixes all the minor bugs that
should of been with v1.2, but wasn't. Sorry for the inconvenience that
you had to endure. This will not happen again(I hope).
If you already downloaded vb12.zip and installed it, ignore the rest
just replace the old VOTE.EXE with the new one.
UPGRADE
===========
To upgrade, you will have to do the following things. Copy the file named
v11tov12.exe to the vote data directory. That is, copy it to the directory
where vote.dat is located. Then just run it and it will automatically
convert the old v1.1 to v1.21. Just make sure the new version of vote.exe
is in the vote directory and vote.dat is in the same directory as
the v11tov12.exe program.
Installing
===================
If you are installing fresh, then you can use the INSTALL.EXE. This will
automatically install the voting booth to synchronet. If you want to make any
changes, on the setup you'll have to run SCFG and do it manually. The purpose of
the install program is to just run it and off you go. But if you have to do it
manually, please read the VB121.doc to get further information on installing
voting booth manually. The command line is as following:
install c:\sbbs\ctrl <enter>
You'll have to provide the location of the configuration file. I highly
recommend that you backup all the \sbbs\ctrl directory just in case.
You never know if this program will decided to give you a bad day. Also
do to the ever changing format of Synchronet configuration files, this will
only work for Synchronet 1c, meaning this will not work for the eariler
version like 1b or 1a. If yo have one earlier like 1b, then you'll have to
manually install it as described in the vb121.doc. Well, good luck and let me
know how it goes.
