  16. #1]  OPERATIONAL POLICY:  It is not, nor shall it become the intention
  17. of SECnet to impose any 'operational conditions' upon its members.
  18. It is the desire of this network to provide a vehicle for the exchange
  19. of messages between 'individual' systems, whereby each 'individual'
  20. system operates with atonomy.  The only operational conditions which
  21. should be observed are those conditions imposed upon your system by
  22. local law.  (ie: x-rated conference access, etc.)
  23.  
  24. #2]  PROFIT/FEES TO ACCESS SECnet:  NO CHARGES WHATSOEVER may be
  25. imposed by a HUB upon a SECnet node.
  26.  
  27. #3]  NETWORK ACCESS TO SECnet CONFERENCES:  AT NO TIME, may a
  28. SECnet NODE allow any user/system to receive from their system,
  29. access to SECnet conferences in a manner which would provide mail to
  30. that system as if they were a node.   Only approved SECnet HUBS
  31. may re-broadcast SECnet conferences to other systems.
  32.  
  33. #4]  COMPLIANCE WITH LOCAL LAWS:  Each SECnet node must comply with
  34. all local laws and hold harmless, SECnet from any wrong doing caused
  35. by your system/users.
  36.  
  37. #5]  USE OF ALIAS NAMES:  SECnet Requires the use of an individuals
  38. real name. Those BBSs that use Alias' are requested to use real names
  39. in the Net.
  40.  
  41. #6]  MAIN RUN FREQUENCY:  Any SECnet node/hub which does not make a
  42. mail run for seven (7) consecutive days shall be considered 'inactive',
  43. and may be dropped from the network.  (Excepting for hardware
  44. failures.)
  45.  
  46. #7]  NETWORK ATTITUDE:  It is the desire of SECnet as a network, to
  47. maintain an 'easy-going' yet 'effective' stature with regard to its
  48. network attitude.
  49.  
  50. #8]  CONFERENCE TOPIC MAINTENANCE:  The SECnet network provides for
  51. Private Messages in the Net Chat conference for un-regulated
  52. user-to-user messages, having no designated topic in the conference.
  53. Off-topic messages in topic sensative conferences will be 'gently'
  54. controlled by the Conference Hosts, or the Network Administrator(s).
  55. WarLord compliance to topic related conferences is not the desire of
  56. this network.

  58. #9]  ENJOYMENT:  It is the prime goal of SECnet to provide for
  59. user/sysop enjoyment of the SECnet Mail system, for the general
  60. exchange, communication, and learning which this network can offer.
  61.  
  62. #10] ADVERTISING:  Advertising is provided in Buy & Sale conference.
  63. General advertising must be limited to this area. The exception being
  64. messages that are of an advertising/announcement nature of new
  65. programs and utilities which DIRECTLY RELATE to the CONFERENCE TOPIC.

  67. #11] You agree to hold harmless for any cause, SECnet and all
  68. of its member systems/sysops from any action(s) whatsoever.

  70. #12] ACCEPTABLE TAGLINE:  All messages on your system MUST carry
  71. a tagline that identifies your BBS, and SECnet.  Acceptable
  72. tagline is as follows;

  74. #13] CHAIN LETTERS: As chain letters are not legal and could become
  75. a problem with athorities and as the context of the mail is such 
  76. that it mostly takes up hard drive space and makes the mail packets 
  77. longer without much if any value to the net. Chain letters are not
  78. welcome in the SECnet.
