ReneGade String Editor
Version 1.0
Coded by Quixotic of LiD
┌ ┌────────────────┐
│ · Introduction · │
└────────────────┘ ┘
This program will allow you to edit your STRING.DAT file. Aren't you tired
of having to retype in a string if you mess up, and sick of the way the pipe
codes are handled in the internal editor? Well, then here's your remedy. This
is a Vision/2 style string editor for all you K-Rad people out there. I will
allow you to edit all of your prompts in a nice little string edit function, so
you can use all your cursor keys, backspace, delete, insert, and whatever else
you can think of. It also has some spiffy scrollbars, and a few other neat-o
things, so use it!

As always, I, the programmer, will take no responsibility, should this
program cause any problems with your hardware. In other words, don't blame me
if your computer suddenly explodes while using this product. There are no
intentional bugs or trojans in the program, but for some reason, if something
was to happen, don't blame me for it. Use this program at your own risk!

└─────────┘ ┘
Now, how do I use this program? Simply put it, along with the RGSE.DAT
file in your C:\RG\DATA, or equivalent directory containing the STRING.DAT
file, and run it. Easy enough.
Inside the program, while in the Edit Mode, you can use the following
functions:
ALT - D: Deletes the current string you are editing.
ALT - N: Advance to the next color scheme in the SCHEME.DAT file.
ALT - R: Restores the original string you started editing.
ALT - U: Undeletes the last string you deleted with ALT - D.
ESC : Aborts any changes made to the string and returns to Selection Mode.
RETURN : Saves the changes made to the string and returns to Selection Mode.
From the startup menu, there are 3 options: Edit Strings, Save Strings,
and Exit to DOS. If you have made some changes to the strings, and try to exit
without saving, it will ask you if you want to save the strings anyway. The
only reason ther is a Save Strings option on the startup menu, is because
I didn't want to just have 2 options for the scrollbar menu. I think the rest
of the program is pretty self-explanatory.

If you have any problems, or suggestions for the program, I can be reached
by one of three ways. The ReneGade support base in ITCnet, which I occasionally
read, SlimeNet/IntentNet/, or you can try to get on the LiD WHQ, or USHQ, and
leave E-mail for me there. See the LIDI????.ANS file for details. This program
is free, but if you like it, leave me some feedback somewhere. If you think it
sucks, leave me some feedback, but tell me why it sucks. If you wanna send me
some money for the program, then by all means, go ahead :).
