  10. What is PlanoNet?
  11. ─────────────────────────────────────

  13.   PlanoNet is a network of BBSes with the intent of sharing information
  14.   and ideas with other users around the world. While this net is aimed
  15.   toward those "first-time" echomail sysops, we welcome all boards to
  16.   join in and participate in this grand experiment! The administration
  17.   of this net assumes that the vast majority of folks using a BBS to
  18.   "talk" to others are mature adults, or at least capable of acting like
  19.   one.

  21.   Currently, this net supports most QWK based echomail software,
  22.   including Rnet, Qnet, Tnet, and more! We also have hubs that will
  23.   echo the mail via a mailer such as FrontDoor, via Fido technology.
  24.   Please see PLANONET.NA for a list of area names.

  26.   This net does not have very many rules, nor will it have an abundance
  27.   of same, unless the need is proven. We are always looking for ideas for
  28.   new conferences, and am very interested in what the user would like to
  29.   see and obtain from an echomail network. It is not our intention for this
  30.   net to grow to be a huge network, as I already have a fulltime job, but I
  31.   do want to encourage communication between any user that's interested.

  33.   Unless otherwise noted, the conferences are overseen and hosted by John
  34.   Stewart. Anyone wishing to host a conference, or start a new one, please
  35.   let me know, and it will be taken into consideration. This net will
  36.   have no "moderators", but will have Hosts. PlanoNet will enlist the help
  37.   of "Roving Hosts" in most conferences. Any shareware author that wishes to
  38.   set up a support conference for their software is welcome, please let me
  39.   know.

  41.   The Rules

  44.    1. No profanity or personal attacks in any conference, other than
  45.       LUNATICS, where anything goes. By the way, the LUNATICS conference
  46.       is restricted to those callers 18 years old, and older! :>

  48.    2. Stay on topic for the conference you are in, so that everyone may
  49.       fully enjoy the focus of the conference
  50.  
  51.    3. As these conferences are echoed, refrain from over-quoting and
  52.       give the sysops who echo these conferences a break.
  53.  
  54.    4. REAL SOUNDING NAMES ONLY! No handles please.... No one wants to
  55.       message with DOCTOR DEATH...
  56.  
  57.    5. All PlanoNet sysops and conference hosts are required to carry
  58.       the ADMIN and TALK2ADMIN conferences.
  59.  
  60.    6. HUBS are required to call into The Fringe once a day, while nodes
  61.       are free to set their calling patterns based on message traffic until
  62.       such time the administration determines that more frequent calling
  63.       warrants.

  65.    7. Nothing illegal is desired, requested, or allowed!
