  2. PLEASE NOTE:

  5.                ALWAYS BACKUP BEFORE INSTALLING NEW VERSIONS !!

  8. ====> v3.1 The following procedeure must be followed to upgrade to v3.1:
  9.            (a) Backup the entire MatchMaker Directory
  10.            (b) Run MM31CVT.EXE to convert the MatchMaker database. Please note
  11.                that this will also DELETE your exisitng message database.
  12.            (c) Update the MatchMaker configuration file(s) with 2 additional
  13.                entries. See documentation for the changes.
  14.            (d) Run the maintenance (MMAINT) program and choose option # 7 to
  15.                create downloadable question files AND choose option #5 to
  16.                recreate the User Indexes.
  17.            (e) Review the PROTOCOL.DAT file in conjunction with the MatchMaker
  18.                documentation and make any changes to reflect the file transfer
  19.                protocols you wish to support. Also be sure to check out the
  20.                supplied protocol batch files for any changes. If you add any
  21.                protocols, be SURE to ADD the corresponding batch files.
  22.  
  23. ====> v3.2 You must run the MMAINT program, option 10 to reformat the existing
  24.            quesiton files. You will then be required to use this option EVERY
  25.            time you make a change to the quesitonaire file.
  26.  
  27.            Configuration file has been expanded. Check Docs.

  29.       v3.5 You MUST run the MMAINT program and choose option 10
  30.  
  31. **>   v4.0 ++++ BE SURE TO READ UPGRADE.TXT if upgrading from prior versions
  32.  
  33.            You MUST run MM40EXP.EXE first (and ONLY once!)
  34.  
  35.              Type:     MM40EXP MMAKER.CFG
  36.              Type:     MMAINT MMAKER.CFG  and choose option 3 then option 5
  37.                        (Option 3 and 5 will reindex the databases)
  38.  
  39.            New addition(s) to the CFG file!!!
  40.            Meaning of line 9 of CFG file has changed!!!!
  41.            New CFG entry.. (10/28).. see MMAKER.HIS file
  42.            Read UPGRADE.TXT for registration info!

  44.            ****** MUST READ MMAKER.HIS FILE *****

  46. **>   v4.2 (1) You must update the CFG file. Added an entry at end of File.

  49.            (2) Run MMAINT, choose option 11. This will remove any
  50.                Drive:\Path info in the Picture FileName record, leaving
  51.                just the filename. Location will now be governed by the
  52.                Drive:\Path\ info supplied in the CFG file and only the
  53.                filename will be exported/imported
  54.  
  55.            (3) New file required... COMPRESS.DAT
  56.  
  57.            (4) New Batch files (ZIP.BZT & UNZIP.BAT) located in MMBATCH.ZIP
  58.  
  59.   **> v4.4 If upgrading from v4.3, just replace ALL files with files dated
  60.            2/25 or later
  61.  
  62.   **> v4.5 (1) Replace ALL files with files dated 5/4/94 or later
  63.            (2) Edit the MMDLTEXT file and then run option #7 in the MMAINT
  64.                program. Further explanantion about this upgrade can be found in
  65.                the MMAKER.HIS file.
  66.  
  67.   **> v4.6 This release was required to recompile the programs due to corrupted
  68.            files causing strange occurrances when the 4.5 version was run. The
  69.            4.5 version has turned into the "Release from H*ll". The following
  70.            files were recompiled: MMAKER.EXE, MMAINT.EXE, MMEXCH.EXE and
  71.            MMAKER.TXT.

  75.            For those that ran into the problems in v4.5 I am very sorry for
  76.            the inconvenience... for those that never got to run v4.5, you
  77.            don't know how lucky you were/are <large grin>
