  2. These .MID files have all (except the short ones used to change the drum set)
  3. been converted from .MOD files by me (Pedro Timóteo). They are intended to be
  4. played on any Wavetable General Midi device, such as the Roland SCC-1, the
  5. Wave Blaster, the Gravis Ultrasound or the Sound Wave 32. They *can* be played
  6. on an FM Sound Blaster (normal, Pro or 16), but frankly I don't see the
  7. point... the .MOD files are available (except the Creeping Death one, which
  8. isn't (yet) on any Portuguese BBS and will be used with Blagtron 4.0) on most
  9. BBSes and sound *much* better on an SB than the .MID files.

  11. In my opinion all these songs sound better when using the Power drum set (play
  12. power.mid to select it). All those drum set change files also change the
  13. chorus and reverb of the Roland to a high value, and are only meant to be
  14. played on a Roland SCC-1 or another GS card. The other files (the songs) can
  15. all be played on any GM card, though.

  17. The following is a list of all the .MID files in this .ZIP, along with a short
  18. (1 line) description, and a rating of 1 (real bad) to 5 (excellent). This
  19. rating is not about the quality of the music itself (how well it was composed
  20. and so on), but instead it's about the implementation (how well it sounds in
  21. my SCC-1 considering the SCC-1's quality).
  22. Note that a "5" doesn't mean that the SCC-1 can't do better! It just means
  23. that the .MID file is one of the best in this .ZIP!
