  13.      All installation examples below assume that your diskette is Drive A:
  14.      and your hard disk is Drive C:.  Modify accordingly if you are using
  15.      different drives (B:, D:, etc.).

  20.      The following files are included on the program diskette or in a self-
  21.      extracting ZIP file MFS3X3.EXE available on CompuServe.

  32.      DISKETTE OPERATION
  33.      ------------------
  34.      You may operate MFS directly from the program diskette by entering the
  35.      following commands at your DOS prompt:
  36.  
  37.      - Switch to your diskette drive:
  38.  
  39.        A:

  41.      - Start program

  43.        RUN MFS
  44.  
  45.      (If you are using a monochrome/Hercules monitor, load MSHERC.COM
  46.      before starting program.)

  49.      HARD DRIVE INSTALLATION
  50.      -----------------------
  51.      We recommend that you install MFS on your hard drive.  Enter the
  52.      following commands at your DOS prompt:

  54.      - Create an OCEAN subdirectory on your hard drive:
  55.  
  56.        MD OCEAN
  57.  
  58.      - Switch to the OCEAN subdirectory:
  59.  
  60.        CD\OCEAN
  61.  
  62.      - Copy files from your program diskette:
  63.  
  64.        COPY A:*.*
  65.  
  66.      - Start program:

  68.        RUN MFS
  69.  
  70.      (If you are using a monochrome/Hercules monitor, load MSHERC.COM
  71.      before starting program.)

  73.      To start the program thereafter, switch to the OCEAN subdirectory
  74.      CD\OCEAN and enter the command line RUN MFS.

  77.      WINDOWS INSTALLATION
  78.      --------------------
  79.      We have successfully operated MFS under Windows 3.1 in full screen
  80.      mode.  However, we do not guarantee compatibility with Windows or
  81.      other multi-tasking environments.  If you encounter problems, we
  82.      suggest that you run MFS in a standard DOS environment.

  84.      To install under Windows (after copying the program files to your hard
  85.      drive as described above), select New File from the Program Manager
  86.      File Menu and enter the following data in the Program Item Properties
  87.      window:

  89.        Description:        MFS
  90.        Command Line:       RUN MFS
  91.        Working Directory:  C:\OCEAN
  92.        Shortcut Key:       None
  93.  
  94.      Then, click the Change Icon button.  Windows will report that an icon
  95.      cannot be found.  Click OK to move to the Change Icon window and enter
  96.      the following:

  98.        File Name:          C:\OCEAN\OCEAN.ICO
  99.  
  100.      Click the OK button twice, returning you to the Program Properties
  101.      window.  Click OK to save data and exit back to the Program Manager.

  104.      VERSION 3.3
  105.      -----------
  106.      MFS program version 3.3 includes the following fixes and enhancements:
  107.  
  108.      - A conflict with SHARE.EXE has been solved.
  109.  
  110.      - An "official" Ocean Software Icon has been added.
  111.  
  112.      - A copy of MSHERC.COM is included to provide graphic support for
  113.      monochrome/Hercules monitors.
  114.  
  115.      - You may enter override amounts in the Taxpayer column on selected
  116.      lines.  Refer to context sensitive help for details.
  117.  
  118.      - The first Help screen under the Program Navigation topic now
  119.      includes a complete "action key" summary.
  120.  
  121.      The following "bugs" are outstanding and are deemed non-fixable:
  122.  
  123.      - If operated under Windows in a "window", two mouse cursors appear.
  124.      We recommend that you operate the program in full screen mode.
  125.  
  126.      - We have received reports of problems when using generic or off-brand
  127.      mice.  Your mouse must be 100% Microsoft compatible.

  130.      SHAREWARE REGISTRATION
  131.      ----------------------
  132.      If you downloaded MFS from CompuServe, or obtained a copy from a
  133.      friend, we encourage you to register your copy.  Registered users will
  134.      receive information on future upgrades and are entitled to support via
  135.      CompuServe Email (preferred method), telephone or FAX.  Long distance
  136.      calls will be returned on a collect basis.  Sorry, we cannot provide
  137.      substantive tax or legal advice.
