CAPS V3.24 DISCLAIMER AND DISTRIBUTION INFORMATION.
(c) 1993-1994 Anton Dreyer C.N.E.*
Although I have taken every care to ensure that these products are of high
quality, I give absolutely no warranty, express or implied of any nature
whatsoever in respect of the use of these products. I further disclaim all
liability in all respects of these products. I will also not be responsible
for ANY direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages including, but
not limited to loss of profit or loss of data resulting from the use of these
products. In short, you use these products at your OWN risk.
You may distribute these products freely provided they are unchanged and that
there is no charge, in other words, you may not sell/re-sell these products
to anyone or modify them in any way except by using CONGEN.EXE.
To install, merely extract and copy to the sys:public directory on your
server and flag SRO.
These products were designed specifically to provide users without the relevant
knowledge or expertise, the ability to spool to any queue on any server,
provided they have sufficient rights. To execute, type CAPS at the dos prompt
and press enter(Or include it as an option in your menu). The current file
server's print queues will be shown in the box on the left. Follow the
instructions in the information box on the right. To access other servers,
press the right arrow key and use your common sense. I have attempted to
address the memory problem when using status but have only had limited success.
(Working on it.)
The port that is used is lpt1. The settings are: NB NFF NT TI=30 which I have
found to be the best all-round solution. This release allows the user to
change these parameters should he/she want to by pressing the left arrow key.
If you have sufficient rights in your current directory, these changes will be
saved to a LOGIN_NAME.$ $ file. If you are the system supervisor, you can use
CONGEN.EXE to change the default settings for everyone. Make sure that CAPS.EXE
is not locked/open and flagged RW and that CONGEN.EXE and CAPS.EXE are in the
same directory. Run CONGEN and follow the instructions. The queues are also
alphabetically sorted in this release. I have addressed all the bugs that I
know of, but if you find any please let me know. As far as the documentation
goes, THIS IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS!
Note:
-----
Do not use CONGEN for v3.23 v1.01 on CAPS v3.24. Use CONGEN for v3.24 v1.00.
CAPS works with Netawre 4.xx with bindery emulation.
I can be contacted via the Internet. My address is "ADREYER@CORP2.MNET.CO.ZA"
HAVE FUN!
