  4. Release 1.00    First beta-release ARJ an PKZIP combined in 1 program

  12. Release 2.03    Support of AV-codes for 4ZIP.BTM
  13.                 You now can tell 4ZIP.BTM you are a registered PKZIP-user
  14.                 through the setup of the program, so that you can support
  15.                 Authenticity Verification Codes
  16.                 If you didn't register at PkWare, setting this option would
  17.                 cause pkzip.exe to show the help-screen of PKZIP.

  19. Release 2.05    Support of the ARJ ver 2.39+ graphical bar + percentage
  20.                 instead of only a graphical-bar. The use of a graphical bar
  21.                 indicator can be set through the SETUP of both programs
  22.  
  23. Release 2.07    The 4dos-select option would show always all files available
  24.                 even if you use a wildcard such as *.EXE.  This has been fixed.
  25.  
  26. Release 2.09    If you told the program not to archive hidden or system-files,
  27.                 through the SETUP, using the 4dos-selectcommand, both programs
  28.                 would show these files anyhow. The select-option will now only
  29.                 show the valid files.

  31. Release 2.10    Full support of 4DOS file descriptions, the DESCRIPT.ION
  32.                 file will always be archived and if needed also in recursive
  33.                 directories. During extracting the DESCRIPT.ION file will
  34.                 always be extracted and joined/updated with an already
  35.                 existing DESCRIPT.ION file within the extract directory.

  37. Release 2.20    4ZIP.BTM will use now the DESCRIPT.ION to create file-comments
  38.                 This option must be activated through the SETUP. This option
  39.                 however slows-down the creation of the ZIP-file a lot. The
  40.                 created file-comments are NOT used to restore the descriptions,
  41.                 however adding file-comments means that the 4UNZIP.EXE program
  42.                 from XD-systems can be used to do so. 4ZIP.BTM has its own way
  43.                 to restore the descriptions. Be aware that the external 4UNZIP
  44.                 program of XD-systems CANNOT handle stored paths in a ZIP-file.

  46. Release 2.25    The Repair-option from the maintainance-menu of 4ZIP would
  47.                 created a file PKFIXED.ZIP and would rename this file to its
  48.                 original name (and call ZIP2EXE.EXE to make it a SFX-file again
  49.                 if needed). This worked allright for a SFX-file, but it would
  50.                 stop if the original file was just a ZIP-file, thus only
  51.                 creating a file called PKFIXED.ZIP. This has been fixed.

  53. Release 2.30    Some users reported after using 4ZIP or 4ARJ that a lot of
  54.                 file-handles were left open thus forcing them to do a reboot
  55.                 This has been fixed.
  56.  
  57. Release 3.00    Major upgrade with a bug-fix on the storage and recreating of
  58.                 the 4DOS-file descriptions. Both programs will now create a file
  59.                 called 4ZIP.ION or 4ARJ.ION which has the same syntax of the
  60.                 DESCRIPT.ION file. It contains ONLY the descriptions of the
  61.                 archived files and will be used to re-create the descriptions.
  62.                 This method will now finally be 100% full-proof. You must have
  63.                 installed FILES=20 or higher in your CONFIG.SYS. A typical
  64.                 graphical-bar will be shown if descriptions are available thus
  65.                 showing the progress during storing or re-creating the file-
  66.                 descriptions. Read the README.COM (page 5/6) for further info.

  68. Release 3.10    An error regarding the closing of filehandles which was removed
  69.                 in version 2.30 came back by accident. Again corrected
