  6.    This program is SHAREWARE. A check for $5 or $10 would be my favorite way
  7.    to be let known you like it and want to keep it - but if money's tight,
  8.    drop me a line anyway. If sufficiently praising (don't embarrass me!),
  9.    I'll send you 3DWORLD and 3DWORLD BONUS, collections of many more
  10.    fascinating VR locations - both in full screen format. If you send MONEY,
  11.    you don't have to say ANYTHING nice; we'll know we like each other!

  13.    3DHOUSE4 has far more improvements than any earlier version: dozens of
  14.    new objects, structural additions, trees, plants, cats, a secret room,
  15.    sounds - even animations (e.g., a TV that shatters, a computer that fades
  16.    away, a gun that shoots a bullet!).  Also, it's got a larger viewing area
  17.    this time around - almost the entire screen.

  19.    3DHOUSE has been featured on CDROMs by Nautilus, Screen Artists and
  20.    WizardWare; in books published by the Waite Group and Sams Publishing and
  21.    in many American and European magazine disk offerings.  The Berkeley Hall
  22.    of Science uses it as a learning tool for its thousands of visitors each
  23.    year. ACCOLADE, the American distributor of the programming system, chose
  24.    3DHOUSE as the product's sole demo.

  28.    Ok, to start, just type 3DHOUSE4.
  29.  
  30.      NOTE: Applications created with Virtual Reality Studio don't run
  31.      correctly from any disk other than c: (the borders don't load and the
  32.      color palette is way off). If your hard drive IS c:, you're all set. If
  33.      not, read up on using the ASSIGN command to fool the program. MS-DOS 6
  34.      users can use the SUBST command.

  38.         Q - Rotate left                 H - Move left
  39.         W - Rotate right                J - Move right
  40.  
  41.         P - Look upward                 R - Rise
  42.         L - Look downward               F - Descend

  44.         O - Move forward                U - U turn
  45.         K - Move backward               I - Center view vertically
  46.  
  47.         C - Gets rid of unsightly crosshairs

  49.    NOTE: The keyboard is always active, even if you've selected mouse
  50.    ("souris" in French, n'est pas!).

  56.    Pressing 'V' then 'B' allows you to enter 'fly' mode. You may have to
  57.    try this a few times to get the hang of it.

  59.    Pointing at a door (generally) and firing, transports you inside it.

  61.    When using the mouse, pressing the right button usually does the same
  62.    thing as the the left - only faster.

  64.    If you have a SoundBlaster or Adlib compatible sound card you'll hear
  65.    sounds.

  67.    I wrote 3DHOUSE with DoMark's "Virtual Reality Studio," version 2.07,
  68.    using Incentive's Freescape programming language. It's definitely worth
  69.    getting if you're into this sort of thing - but be prepared to spend some
  70.    serious time if your project is at all ambitious. 3DHOUSE has taken about
  71.    300 hours, all tolled. You can order it directly from ACCOLADE at (800)
  72.    245-7744.  You might check software ads in computer magazines for a
  73.    discounted price.  I've also seen it at most national computer stores.
