  1.                         FIRST QUOTES

  3. Hardware requirements:
  4. This program will run on any IBM or IBM compatible computer with a hard drive.
  5. The demonstration program occupies approximately 26 kilobytes on your C: drive.   
  6.  
  7. Installation: 
  8. Unzip the program using PKUNZIP or your favorite "unzipper" to a 
  9. directory of your choice on your hard drive. You will find five
  10. new files: 
  11.        README.TXT (this file)
  12.        FQINST.EXE (installation program)
  13.        1STQUOTD.ZIP
  14.        QUOTED.ZIP
  15.        UNQUOTED.EXE (un-install program)
  16.  
  17. Type "FQINST" and press  the <ENTER> key.  The installation 
  18. program automatically installs FIRST QUOTES for you. It makes 
  19. a backup of your original autoexec.bat file to auotexec.fwd.
  20. It does not modify your config.sys file. First Quotes is not a 
  21. "Terminate and Stay Resident (TSR)" program; therefore, it cannot 
  22. interfere with any of your programs.

  24. Whenever you turn-on your computer, you will be greeted with a 
  25. pleasant quote and its author.  When you wish to remove the 
  26. demonstration program from your computer, go to the directory 
  27. that you used to install the program, type "UNQUOTED", and press 
  28. the <ENTER> key. Erase all of the programs that were "unzipped" 
  29. and the directory that contained them.
