Megilla Writer
================
Megilla Writer was designed specifically for users in North
America. Its very user friendly menus are written in English and
Hebrew, it supports the Hebrew vowels (Nikud) and it is WYSIWYG.
This means that What You See on the screen - including the style
of the letters (font), the margins and whether the text is bold or
italic - is What You Get on the printer.
Megilla Writer is lightweight and easy to use. It is ideal for
writing personal letters, business letters, school material and
other documents. It runs under DOS and requires VGA or EGA.
Supports LaserJet, DeskJet and dot matrix printers.
Price: $79.95 USD.
Keyboard Melamed
==================
Wouldn't it be wonderful if you could type in Hebrew as easily
as you type in English? If you find yourself spending too much
time looking for the Hebrew keys - then Keyboard Melamed is the
answer for you. Keyboard Melamed is an effective as well as
entertaining Hebrew typing tutor. In five lessons that progress
from the very basic introduction to the Hebrew Aleph-Bet to
advanced typing with a running timer, you will learn Hebrew
touch typing. When you get tired of typing drills you can turn
to the game section where you are challenged to press the
correct key, as an array of letters rains down the screen. To
top it all, Keyboard Melamed comes with an integrated Hebrew
text editor that supports the Hebrew vowels, so you can compose
your own text, print it or practice typing it again and again...
Keyboard Melamed is ideal for the student - young or old - who
is learning Hebrew. It runs under DOS and requires VGA or EGA.
Price: $34.95 USD.
Dreidels and Dinosaurs
========================
Learning to read Hebrew can have a cash pay-off - in Dinosaur
Dollars. This currency is issued on your computer printer by
Dreidles and Dinosaurs after correctly spelling or matching 10
words. Dreidels and Dinosaurs offers four language and spelling
activities for young computer users, divided into eleven
difficulty levels. The activities start with a simple display of
flash cards intended for toddlers who just like to play on the
keyboard like their older siblings. At higher levels the
activities include matching a picture to one of multiple choices
of words, spelling words and "catching" rapidly falling letters
to correctly spell a word.
The program comes with over 50 high resolution animated
illustrations depicting everything from apples that get eaten to
zebras that bray. It can work in Hebrew or English mode and can
be adjusted to the special needs of your child (for example, you
can select Hebrew block or script letters).
Dreidels and Dinosaurs is operated by large graphical icons (or
buttons) clicked on with the mouse, making it simple to use even
for those who cannot yet read. It will provide your kids with
hours of fun at the computer - but don't tell them that they are
learning Hebrew - it will spoil their fun!
Dereidels and Dinosaurs is best for ages 3 to 10. It runs under
DOS and requires VGA.
Price: $34.95 USD
Hebrew Keyboard Overlay
=========================
This flexible plastic overlay fits snugly on top of your
keyboard. You can put it on when you type Hebrew and take it off
when you don't. It will convert your regular QWERTY keyboard
into a bilingual Hebrew/English one, using the standard Israeli
keyboard layout. Unlike the stickers, you can easily move it
from one computer to another. It fits on any IBM-PC keyboard and
Macintosh extended keyboard (not including notebook computers).
Price: $9.95 USD.
