  2. Version 3.1e is a minor maintenence release.
  3.  
  4. INSTALLATION
  5. Execute INSTALL.EXE from within Windows. Install will create a sub-directory of your 
  6. choice, copy all distribution files and create a Program Manager Group for WinCover if 
  7. you desire OR you may manually copy all distribution files to the directory of your 
  8. choice. Use Windows Program Manager, the Windows Setup program or an equivalent 
  9. process to install. Requires VBRUN300.DLL, not included. May be obtained from 
  10. Compuserve and most major BBS's. 
  11.  
  12. FIRST TIME USE
  13. Complete help for first time use is available from the Help menu or by pressing 
  14. the F1 key anywhere from within the program.

  16.  
  17. WHEN UPGRADING FROM WINCOVER 3.0 OR 3.1:
  18.  
  19. 1> (3.0) Delete ENUMFONT.DLL from your disk. It was installed by default in the
  20.    Windows System directory.
  21.  
  22. 2> Copy VBRUN300.DLL to your Windows System directory. VBRUN300.DLL 
  23.    is available from Compuserve, AOL and most BBS's.
  24.  
  25. 3> Run INSTALL.EXE and place WinCover in a DIFFERENT directory than your current 
  26.    installation, copy your old data and bitmap files (.fax(3.0), .fcs(3.1)**, .db, 
  27.    .dat(3.0), .snd (3.1), .bmp) to the new directory.
  28.  
  29. 4> (3.0) RUN CONVERT.EXE IN THE NEW DIRECTORY to convert to the new Sender and Fax 
  30.    file formats. See the Help menu of CONVERT.EXE for further instructions. YOU 
  31.    MUST CONVERT YOUR OLD DATA TO USE THIS VERSION.

  34.    **IF YOU ARE UPGRADING FROM VERSION 3.1**
  35.  
  36.    Starting with version 3.1a there was a change of data sequencing in all .FCS 
  37.    (saved fax files). A bug in version 3.1 caused improper data sequencing in
  38.    .FCS files if carriage returns were added to the notes section. This has been 
  39.    fixed in 3.1a or newer. Any .FCS files saved with version 3.1 will no longer be 
  40.    fully readable with 3.1a or newer with comments, date and notes entries out of 
  41.    sequence. The only way to recover these files is to manually re-sequence the 
  42.    data which is actually quite easy. IF YOU MUST RECOVER THESE DATA FILES, CONTACT 
  43.    THE AUTHOR FOR INSTRUCTIONS.
