  8. Section I:  Introduction
  9.      I wrote this program with the intent of providing a
  10. satisfactory interface for Otto Chrons' wonderful music
  11. player.  I really enjoyed listening to the sound files, but
  12. I really hated having to type in the name of the files I
  13. wanted to play.  I thought it was quite logical to take
  14. advantage of DMP's ability to accept a list of files to play
  15. in a text file as an argument, and incorporate it into a
  16. file/directory program along with configuration for various
  17. command line options.
  18.      This is really my first programming project I have ever
  19. really put some time into.  It took quite a few hours to
  20. figure out how to accomplish certain concepts (like linked
  21. lists, etc.), and especially to debug, but I think it was
  22. worth it.  Please look at the accompanying documentation
  23. file for one of many ways to send me mail or a comment, get
  24. the source code, and send me much needed feedback.

  27. Section II:  DMP
  28.      The actual DMP (Dual Module Player) program is "a
  29. standalone module  player with  which  you can play STM,
  30. S3M, 669, FAR and MTM files as well  as Amiga modules (MOD
  31. or NST).  DMP is cardware so you  can freely distribute  it
  32. and I hope you did, as long as you include this help file
  33. with the executable."
  34.      You can find the actual DMP executable in many
  35. different locations on computer bulletin boards, shareware
  36. exchanges, etc.  For more information, see  Appendix I:
  37. Contacting the Author/ Versions of DMP.

  40. Section III:  DMP Shell Usage
  41.      DMP Shell is generally self explanatory.  In the main menu
  42. or at the configure menu, you can press F1 and get what help
  43. you need.
  44. --->Command Line:  DS.EXE [mask]
  45.     In using the command line with the optional mask directrive,
  46. simply specify the files that you would like displayed.  Examples
  47. are *.* (default), *.MOD, *.669, A*.*
  48.     Give this program to anyone who is at all interested!  It is
  49. cardware (send me a postcard).
  50.     I would like to thank the makers of the SPAWNO functions. 
  51. Without those functions, I would never have had enough memory to
  52. run DMP and return to the DMP Shell.

  55. Section IV:  DMP Shell Tips/ Tricks
  56. ·    In the configuration menu, under the last option, path
  57.   to DMP, you can also specify additional command line options
  58.   for when you execute DMP.  A good use of this is DMP's
  59.   ability to execute a program immediately upon execution.
  60. ·    Try Pressing the F1 key at any main screen to obtain
  61.   help.
  62. ·    You can pass a file mask as a parameter.  Try it.
