DiskSecure II Error Messages
Viruses and other things that go bump in the night can cause a
multitude of errors. For maximum information, DiskSecure provides
a number of messages to help troubleshoot errors should they occur.
Since space in the BIOS are is at a premium and since ASCII takes
up a *lot* of room, these may be rather cryptic. This file provides
an explination of those messages. Sometimes the same message (e.g.
Load Error, Disk Error, & Disk Access Error all mean the same thing
- a disk access failed - however the exact wording will tell which
module the error occured in.
DBR Error: change detected in Dos Boot Record. Use the ctrl
key to boot from a floppy. If drive C: is read-
able, use the SYS command to reload the DBR.
May have to remove-reinstall DS II afterwards. A
very few early Zenith DOS versions and early HP-
Vectras may display this problem and are not
compatable with DS II.
Disk Access Error: (module 3) disk access failure
Disk Error: (module 2) disk access failure
DS II Trap: Something tried to violate DS integrity - followed
by a code to indicate how e.g. 3 indicates a
write attempt to a protected area.
ICP Check: Interecept module checksum incorrect
Load Error: (module 1) disk access failure
Match Error: Executing code does not match code on disk
MBR Check: MBR checksum incorrect
P-Table Error: Change attempt detected in partition table
Sector MisMatch: Redundancy error discovered
Unrecoverable: Error beyond the capability of DS II to recover. See
documentation.
Vector Error: Interrupt vector that is not directed to the correct
location.
