  4. Both new and Old users should check the install.doc, there is a
  5. special section for old users that warns you of some changes you may
  6. have to do. Old users will have pretty much seen the rest of this
  7. file and can stop now.

  9. WHAT IS IT
  10.  
  11.     This program allows you to create "FORMS" for display on your
  12. monitor or for rendering by the POV or VIVID raytracers. A form is a
  13. three dimensional object built up from a simple set of primitives
  14. (sphere, box, torus, ellipse, cone, spacer) and some simple
  15. operations that are performed on them (stack, bend, twist, grow etc.).

  17.     Although this sounds none too inspiring the FORMs you can create
  18. with simple input files can be quite good, or why else would I have
  19. written this program?  
  20.  
  21.     This program is NOT a CAD package, none of the forms produced are
  22. intended to represent anything real in any way, they are just
  23. supposed to look good.

  25.     For those of you who have seen or read TODD and LATHAM's book
  26. "Evolutionary Art and Computers" this program is supposed to perform
  27. roughly the same function as that set out in that book.

  30. REGISTRATION.

  32. This program is FREE, you don't have to register. I would like some
  33. feedback though, you could consider this some sort of registration if
  34. you like.

  37. LEGAL STUFF

  39.     see FORM.DOC for copyright and restrictions on distribution.
  40.     Basically it says don't charge for the program, and respect other
  41.     peoples copyright. Also ask me before you distribute with a publication.

  43. REQUIREMENTS
  44.  
  45.     Due to the video routines I have used this program requires:-
  46.         An IBM PC compatible with a 386 or better processor 
  47.         A VGA or super VGA display (preferably with a VESA driver).
  48.         A text editor, such as DOS's EDIT.
  49.         Some extended or expanded memory is useful (though not essential),
  50.         extended/expanded memory usage varies from around zero to 1.4Meg
  51.         dependant on screen resolution.

  53.     A big sorry to those of you who haven't got a machine that
  54. matches or exceeds the above specs, but I think this is getting to be
  55. a standard sort of machine now.

  58. CONVERSIONS
  59.  
  60.     If you don't have an IBM PC compatible but would still like to
  61. run this program on your machine please let me know, I may do a
  62. conversion for you, or release the source code.
