  5. BIBL (rhymes with nibble) is a full-featured package for managing
  6. your personal/office library. Features include: multiple databases;
  7. mouse support; Win 3.1 clipboard support; ASCII import/export;
  8. note field w/ word-wrap; create bibliographies; full-text/keyword/boolean
  9. searching; 13+ reports; link files (& images) to records & more.

  12. Installation?

  14. BIBL comes with an installation program--that can run from a floppy
  15. or any directory on your hard disk. Type install to activate the
  16. installation program and then specify where BIBLSW.INS can be found
  17. and where you'd like to install BIBL.  The install program merely
  18. unpacks the installation file (BIBLSW.INS), creates the directory
  19. where you want BIBL installed, copies the files there, then logs
  20. onto that directory when installation is complete.  INSTALL.EXE
  21. will check to see that you have a FILES= statement in your
  22. CONFIG.SYS file.  If not, you'll receive a message.  The program
  23. makes no changes to any other files on your system (e.g.,
  24. CONFIG.SYS, AUTOEXEC.BAT, etc.).

  26. Type BIBL to activate the program when installation finishes.

  28. Using an earlier version of BIBL (pre 8.x)?
  29.  
  30. Release 8.0 introduces a new database structure. If you have
  31. an older version of BIBL, you must first create a BIX file
  32. using your older version of BIBL.EXE. Then run the new version
  33. of BIBL and create an empty database...then import your BIX
  34. file into the newly created database.

  36. If you overwrite your old BIBL before reading this, then call
  37. the GMUtant OnLine BBS for a copy of BIBLUP.EXE -- a utility
  38. that will convert older database(s) to the 8.0 structure.
