  7. Nonlin performs linear and nonlinear statistical regression
  8. analysis. Nonlin determines the values of parameters for an
  9. equation, whose form you specify, that cause the equation to best
  10. fit a set of data values. Nonlin can handle linear, multivariate,
  11. polynomial, logistic, and general nonlinear equations.  You specify
  12. the form of the equation using normal algebraic notation. Nonlin
  13. includes a rich set of built-in library functions such as trig,
  14. probability, exponential, log, Bessel, etc. that you can use in the
  15. equation being fitted to the data.

  17. In addition to fitting the equation to the data, Nonlin determines a
  18. variety of statistics including confidence intervals, t and F
  19. statistics, and Durbin-Watson test for autocorrelation. Nonlin can
  20. also plot the data and fitted equation.

  23. and gives many examples.
