  8. HyperRead Generator allows you to create easily distributable
  9. hypertext documents. It is idea for shareware authors with large
  10. instruction manuals for their programs and for digital publishers.
  11. HyperRead Generator does not actually change your original ASCII
  12. file. Instead, it creates a hypertext control file for your ASCII
  13. document. The HyperRead read-only program can then load the control
  14. file and your ASCII file and provide hypertext features for your
  15. document. This has the advantage that your original text file is
  16. not damaged and can still be used in that format if desired, unlike
  17. some hypertext systems that embed control codes in the original
  18. ASCII text file.

  20. HyperRead hypertexting system not only allows you to create text
  21. links that allow the reader to jump around in the document, it also
  22. allows the reader to view PCX picture files linked in the document
  23. just by clicking on the name of the PCX file in the document. They
  24. can also shell to DOS and run DOS programs just by clicking on the
  25. name of the DOS program or batch file within the document.

  27. In addition to the hypertext features, the reader program
  28. provides other standard document reading features, such as
  29. page-up, page-down, single-line scroll, jump to document top
  30. or bottom, and text-search.

  32. The reader offers many features that make it particularly
  33. useful for document distribution. The read program is small
  34. (13 K), highly compatible with all types of IBM PC
  35. compatibles (minimal system requirements), easy to use, and
  36. requires no shareware fees (only the Generator requires a
  37. shareware fee). Even a print document feature is provided.
