  15.                        PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

  18.      Voice Blaster Jr Version 2.4 is a Windows 3.1 application
  19.      which allows you to queue up any combination of audio wave
  20.      (.WAV), music midi (.MID), and any MCI supported files such
  21.      as Video for Windows (MCI drivers used).  Then you can begin
  22.      listening to hundreds of music and audio files while running
  23.      other Windows applications! You can pause, continue, and
  24.      queue up all audio files in multiple drives and directories
  25.      and listen to hours of waveform audio and midi music from
  26.      your computer while you work!  This version even plays wave
  27.      files over the PC speaker.  Complete with Windows Help for
  28.      playing files and instructions for how to register this
  29.      product. Accepts and instantly plays supported sound files
  30.      using Drag Drop from File Manager! Options for playing now
  31.      include:

  33.      Loop mode   - Continuously play selected files until you 
  34.                    stop the playing!
  35.  
  36.      Random mode - Play selected files at random!

  38.      Autostart   - Option which is used to have the VB Jr program
  39.                    automatically queue up all the files in the 
  40.                    last directory used, and begin playing them 
  41.                    using the last used options (all options are

  47.      Please try this program out and see for yourself how easy it
  48.      is to use. Voice Blaster Jr is a shareware program. If you
  49.      decide to use this program after evaluating it, please send

  51.      manual (see the REGISTER.TXT file, or read the 'REGISTERING'
  52.      section of VB Jr by selecting the 'HELP' button after running
  53.      VB Jr.

  64.      mode is off, and bug fix for adding files to queue while

  94.      VB Jr version 2.0 was developed to work with the Multimedia
  95.      extensions that are part of Windows 3.1.  The advantages are
  96.      many, including automatic support for any audio card which
  97.      has the Multimedia Drivers.  Since the multimedia standard
  98.      digital waveform file is .WAV, this is the file used for the
  99.      unregistered version of VB Jr 2.0.  The registered version
  100.      will support the .VOC waveform files.

  102.      VERSION 1.0

  104.      Version 1.0 of VB Jr was written for Windows 3.0.  This
  105.      version uses a Windows 3.0 DLL called "SNDBLST.DLL" written
  106.      by Creative Labs.  This DLL is not compatible with the
  107.      Windows Multimedia Extensions, and should only be used for
  108.      Windows 3.0.  Support for this version is no longer given.

  110.                             SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  114.      * Min of 1 MB Ram
  115.      * Windows 3.1 or Windows with Multimedia Extensions
  116.      * Any Windows supported Monitor
  117.      * Mouse recommended but not required
  118.      * Audio card with digital audio output and/or music output
  119.        capability with Windows Multimedia Drivers installed
  120.      * Will play waveform data through PC speaker with the
  121.        speaker driver installed (available from Microsoft)

  123.      Any sound card that has the Windows multimedia drivers
  124.      installed will work with this program.  Some of these cards
  125.      are the Sound Blaster, Sound Blaster Pro and Basic, Thunder
  126.      Cards, Pro AudioSpectrum Series, and any other cards which
  127.      have Windows multimedia drivers support for music or
  128.      digitized sound.

  130.      Contact the manufacturer of your audio card if you do not
  131.      currently have the Windows multimedia drivers, or if your
  132.      drivers are older than Jan 1992, chances are there are
  133.      updates available via BBS or US mail.

  136.      downloading the latest drivers (BBS numbers for Creative Labs
  137.      and Media Vision are listed in the 'HELP' section of VB Jr)

  162.                              INSTALLATION
  163.                              ============

  165.      VB Jr will run from a floppy drive, but since it is a
  166.      windows application, it is better to install it onto your
  167.      hard drive.
  168.  
  169.      Installation of VB Jr to a hard drive is easy. Here is what
  170.      you do:
  171.  
  172.      1) Make a directory for VB Jr (if desired, recommended!)
  173.      2) Copy all the above files to the new directory,
  174.         (copy BWCC.DLL to Windows directory)
  175.      3) Run Windows 3.1 or Windows with Multimedia
  176.      4) Add VB Jr to a program group or just run it
  177.      
  178.      Here is an example where C:\VBJR is the desired directory
  179.      [PATH] = C:\PCPLUS\DWN ([PATH] is the directory where the VB
  180.      JR files reside). If the files was on the "B:" drive, then
  181.      substitute "B:" where you see [PATH].  [WINDOWS DIRECTORY]
  182.      is directory your Windows programs are installed, typically
  183.      \WINDOWS.

  192.      Since VB Jr is shareware, all the above files must be kept
  193.      together.  Of course, it would be better to use Windows File
  194.      Manager, or any other file copy utility to copy the VB Jr
  195.      files, but the above example was given for clarity.

  197.      If you have received this package from a BBS, then it would
  198.      be better to unzip all the files directly into the new
  199.      directory. Here is an example of unarchiving the files into
  200.      the new directory:

  211.                        RUNNING THE PROGRAM

  214.      Since VB Jr is a Windows application, it must be run from
  215.      Windows. Run the program "VBJR.EXE" to run VB Jr.  After
  216.      running the program, select the "HELP" button to receive on-
  217.      line help for playing files and to receive instructions for
  218.      how the register this product, and additional information
  219.      such as audio card BBS support numbers, and more!
