The TriBBS UTI 5.0
Copyright (c) 1991-1993 By Mark D. Goodwin
TriBBS UTI is distributed a freeware. Registered TriBBS sysops
are free to use TriBBS UTI with their boards. Unregistered
TriBBS sysops are free to use TriBBS UTI during their board's 30
day evaluation period. Any other use of TriBBS UTI is strictly
prohibited.
The TriBBS UTI 5.0 is a fully functional "Revision 2 UTI" which
allows a TriBBS to use PCRelay, Postlink, and MegaMail. PCRelay
is an excellent netmail system and is used by such netmail
systems as RelayNet, Intelec, P-Net, etc. PCRelay and Postlink
are commercial programs and you should contact the net you wish
to join as to the method you will need to use to acquire a copy.
MegaMail is an offline reader/replier. It is distributed as
shareware and registration of both the MegaMail door and the
reader/replier are free to sysops. Not only is the price right,
it is one of the best offline reader/repliers available. The
most recent version of both the MegaMail door and the
reader/replier can be found on many BBS systems across the
country and can be found on the TriBBS support board: The Lobster
Buoy 207-941-0805.
Setting up the TriBBS UTI is an extremely simple procedure.
Simply copy all of the UTI EXE files into a subdirectory that is
in your PATH. You must then create a one line text file, UTI.CFG
(a sample UTI.CFG file is included in the ZIP file), in each work
directory that will use the UTI. For example: You would have to
place a copy of UTI.CFG in both your PCRelay directory and your
MegaMail directory if you are running both systems. Although you
only need to maintain the one copy of the UTI EXE files on your
computer, it is essential that each work directory that will use
the UTI have their own UTI.CFG file. UTI.CFG simply contains the
path to your TriBBS's main directory. For example: If your main
BBS directory is C:\TRIBBS you would create a text file like the
following:
C:\TRIBBS
It's that simple! Once they are properly set up, the TriBBS UTI,
PCRelay, and Megamail will open up the vast world of netmail to
you and the users of your BBS.
