  8.   .   IMPORTANT!  The author now lives in Montreal between September
  9.       through April.  Netmail to 1:153/420 will be forwarded to a new
  10.       address, but will take longer.

  12.   .   With v3.00 of Steel & Ice, maintenance is no longer performed
  13.       automatically.  An external maintenance program has been provided
  14.       (MAINT.EXE), and must be run once every day in a nightly event.
  15.       Maintenance was moved out of S&I to accomodate sysop requests
  16.       that registered versions be allowed to play more than one REAL
  17.       game per day.  The external utility will speed up maintenance
  18.       time, thereby allowing the user to spend more time in the door.

  20.   .   To upgrade from v2.10 of S&I, unzip S&I_300.ZIP into your S&I
  21.       directory, overwriting all the old files.  Run SETUP.EXE and
  22.       select RESET S&I.  You MUST reset the league before proceeding
  23.       with running the program.  If you are upgrading from an earlier
  24.       version, first delete that version, and install v3.00 as outlined
  25.       in SYSOP.DOC.

  27.   .   With registered copies now, your users will not be limited to one
  28.       real game with additional exhibition games.  Now ALL games count
  29.       towards the statistics.  It is recommended that the sysop set the
  30.       max games / day to 5 or lower so as to minimize the maintenance
  31.       running time.  Unregistered copies are still limited to one real
  32.       game per day.

  34.   .   Steel & Ice v3.00 is the result of nearly 2 years of design and
  35.       development.  Please do not hinder its growth by using pirated
  36.       or cracked registered copies.  The price of this online game has
  37.       been kept reasonable for the sole purpose of encouraging more honest 
  38.       sysops to avoid using pirated or cracked copies.  Thank-you.
