  7.     Thank you for trying the Relish 32-Bit Working Model for OS/2 2.0  
  8.     and higher. This file contains information which became available 
  9.     after the printed materials went to press.

  11.     To install the Relish 32-Bit Working Model, follow the instructions
  12.     which are contained in the printed Introduction accompanying this
  13.     disk or in the INTRO.TXT file on the disk itself.

  17.     Relationship of Relish (16-Bit) and Relish 32-Bit
  18.  
  19.     Relish 32-Bit is a superset of Relish -- everything you can do with
  20.     Relish, you can do with Relish 32-Bit.  But the 32-bit version 
  21.     includes additional features as well as specific support for use with
  22.     the Workplace Shell of OS/2 Version 2.  Consult the User's Guide
  23.     Supplement for details on what's new in the 32-Bit version.

  26.     Relationship of Relish and Relish Net
  27.  
  28.     From the user's point of view, Relish Net is a functional superset of
  29.     Relish -- everything you can do with Relish, you can do with Relish
  30.     Net.  But with Relish Net, you gain the ability to interact with other
  31.     Relish users connected on the same LAN.  Relish Net provides both
  32.     personal and group calendaring in one integrated package.  Should the 
  33.     need arise, you can upgrade your copy of Relish into that for a Relish 
  34.     Net workstation.  Contact Sundial Systems for details on either the 
  35.     16- or 32-Bit versions of Relish Net.

  38.     OS/2, Presentation Manager, and Workplace Shell Compatibility:
  39.  
  40.     Relish 32-Bit is designed specifically for use with OS/2 Version 2
  41.     and the Workplace Shell.  This includes OS/2 2.1 as well as the OS/2
  42.     2.0 "General Availability," "Preload" (2.00.1), and "Service Pack"
  43.     (CSD 6055) releases.
  44.  
  45.     If you have questions regarding Relish and your particular release of
  46.     OS/2, please contact Sundial Systems Support Services.  Let us know
  47.     the OS/2 version number, date or code number of any OS/2 correction
  48.     or service pack disks, and any specific correction files which have
  49.     been applied.

  52.     Colors and Fonts
  53.  
  54.     You can change almost all of the fonts and colors used in Relish by
  55.     dragging and dropping a new font or color from the OS/2 Color or Font
  56.     Palettes.  When you drop a color, the background of the area you drop
  57.     on is changed by default.  To change the foreground color (e.g., the
  58.     color of the text) for any given area, hold down the CTRL key while
  59.     you drop.

  61.     You can also switch between two sets of colors based on the setting
  62.     of the Program Colors checkbox in the Setup Desktop dialog.  By 
  63.     default, Program Colors are turned on and the Relish specific colors
  64.     are used.  When Program Colors are turned off, the colors used by
  65.     Relish correspond to those set for your entire desktop -- and any
  66.     changes you make to your desktop colors will be reflected within
  67.     Relish.  If, however, you drag-and-drop other colors onto Relish when
  68.     Program Colors are turned off, the areas on which you drop the colors
  69.     will no longer reflect any changes you make to your system-wide
  70.     desktop colors.

  73.     Printing
  74.  
  75.     While the Working Model does not allow you to print information, we
  76.     will be happy to supply you with sample prints of the various formats.
  77.     If you did not receive any samples with this disk, just give us a call
  78.     and we will send some out to you right away!

  81.     Limitations
  82.  
  83.     There are a small number of limitations in this version of the 
  84.     program.  Most are related to underlying limitations or problems in
  85.     the OS/2 Presentation Manager or Workplace Shell for which we have
  86.     not yet found a practical workaround.
  87.  
  88.     Limitations under both OS/2 2.1 and 2.0:
  89.  
  90.     * If you request help (by pressing the F1 key) while dragging across
  91.       the Note Palette, the program will exit ungracefully.
  92.  
  93.     * If you change the shape of the Note Palette to tall and narrow, you
  94.       cannot make it as narrow as you might like.
  95.  
  96.     * If you change the highlighting color of the currently selected note
  97.       in the main window's summary box (by dragging a color from the OS/2
  98.       Color Palette), the resulting color may not match the color you 
  99.       selected.  In general, only the 16 basic colors supported by a VGA 
  100.       display can be used for the background of the highlighting bar; 
  101.       the color you select will be mapped to the closest such color (which 
  102.       is light grey for many of the pastel colors in the Color Palette).
  103.  
  104.     * Colors and fonts dropped on title bars, menus, and dialogs are
  105.       neither saved nor restored.
  106.  
  107.     * To print to other than the default OS/2 printer, you must enter the
  108.       name of the printer queue (not the printer itself) in the Other
  109.       Printer Name field of the Setup Printer dialog.  (This applies only
  110.       if you print using the Relish menu options, not if you drag
  111.       information from Relish to a Workplace Shell printer.)
  112.  
  113.     * If you drag an item from Relish onto the Workplace Shell icon for
  114.       a program (such as the icon for an editor), the program will not be
  115.       executed.  (As a workaround, drag the item onto the desktop, then
  116.       drag the resulting text file icon onto the program icon.)
  117.  
  118.     Limitations under OS/2 2.0 (not applicable under OS/2 2.1):
  119.  
  120.     * The program will exit ungracefully if you drop a scheme from the
  121.       scheme palette on the program's main window.
  122.  
  123.     * If you use the OS/2 System Setup to change the "dragging objects"
  124.       mouse button from Button 2 to Button 1, you will not be able to
  125.       drag note type icons from the Note Palette.
  126.  
  127.     * As you drag objects from Relish across objects on the desktop,
  128.       partial outlines may be left around the desktop objects. (This
  129.       problem is corrected by the OS/2 2.0 6055 CSD.)
  130.  
  131.     * Dragging information from Relish and dropping it onto the desktop
  132.       (or into a folder) does not always produce the desired result.
  133.       (This problem was introduced by the OS/2 2.0 6055 CSD.)

  135.  
  136.     Features Not Discussed Elsewhere
  137.  
  138.     The following features may not be discussed in the printed 
  139.     documentation nor in the on-line help information.
  140.  
  141.     Additional Drag and Drop Support
  142.  
  143.     * If you drag from the system menu icon (in the upper left corner) of
  144.       the main Relish window, you can print whatever is currently in view
  145.       by dropping on any Workplace Shell printer icon.
  146.  
  147.     * If you drag from the system menu icon (in the upper left corner) of
  148.       the calendar window, you can print that month's calendar by dropping
  149.       on any Workplace Shell printer icon.
  150.  
  151.     CID Enablement
  152.  
  153.     The Relish INSTALL program now supports IBM's CID (Configuration,
  154.     Installation, Distribution) standard for remotely installing software
  155.     over a LAN.  A sample CID response file, RELISH.RSP, is included on
  156.     the distribution disk.  The response file also documents the command
  157.     line arguments supported by the installation program.  For more
  158.     information about CID, contact your IBM representative or consult the
  159.     "IBM Network Transport Services/2 Redirected Installation and
  160.     Configuration Guide" (S96F-8488-00).

  162.     BocaSoft System Sounds
  163.  
  164.     If you have purchased and installed BocaSoft System Sounds, you can
  165.     have Relish use those sounds instead of its normal chime tones.  Thus,
  166.     for instance, you can play a standard WAV file, or your own recorded
  167.     sounds, whenever a Relish reminder appears.
  168.  
  169.     * To change any of the default chime tones, use the Setup Chime Tones
  170.       dialog.  Where the text of the chime tone definition would normally
  171.       be entered, type:
  172.  
  173.         @SSND:xx
  174.  
  175.       where xx is the BocaSoft 'event index' number (such as 45).  (You
  176.       may also use @BOCA: or @BOCASOFT: in place of @SSND:.)
  177.  
  178.     * To change the chime tone for a specific note, use the Features
  179.       Reminder dialog (while adding or revising the note) and enter the
  180.       @SSND:xx string in the Special Chime Tone field.
  181.  
  182.     Note that BocaSoft's 'User Events' (45 through 49) are intended to be
  183.     used for this type of purpose, but you can use any event index you
  184.     wish -- just be sure the event is not disabled.  Also note that no
  185.     sound will be generated unless BocaSoft System Sounds is running at
  186.     the time of the reminder, etc.
