  6.     RoboMail was not exited properly the last time it was run. 
  7.     Because of this, your message data files may not have been closed 
  8.     properly.  Please read the information contained in this document 
  9.     carefully.  Before continuing, you should verify that the 
  10.     following steps have been taken:

  12.     1   If you are running in a multi-tasking or task-switching 
  13.         environment, you should verify that no other copies of RoboMail 
  14.         are running in this same directory.  RoboMail is not a multi-user 
  15.         program, and any attempt to run two instances of the program 
  16.         simultaneously in the same directory may result in data 
  17.         corruption.  If you find that another copy is running, please 
  18.         press ESCape now and answer yes when you are asked if another
  19.         copy of RoboMail is running.

  21.     2   Because of the large quantity of data which may be managed by 
  22.         your RoboMail installation, you should always verify that your 
  23.         hard disk's file system is stable before attempting to rebuild 
  24.         your RoboMail data.  If you haven't done so yet, please press 
  25.         ESCape to end this.  Answer NO when you are prompted for
  26.         permission to rebuild the RoboMail data files.  Then, restart
  27.         your system and run the DOS CHKDSK program or other suitable
  28.         utility to verify the integrity of your disk filing system.

  31. TROUBLE SHOOTING HINTS
  32. ----------------------

  34.     If RoboMail has been "Hanging" or you are experiencing other 
  35.     difficulties which are causing the program to exit abnormally, it's 
  36.     possible that there may be an incompatibility between RoboMail's 
  37.     usage of expanded (EMS) memory and your memory manager or other TSR 
  38.     programs.  If you suspect that this may be the problem, please 
  39.     disable RoboMail's usage of the EMS pageframe be adding the ";/OP0" 
  40.     switch to the end of your ROBOMAIL environment variable.  If you do
  41.     not have a ROBOMAIL environment variable in use at the moment,
  42.     please add the following line to the end of your AUTOEXEC.BAT file:

  44.             SET ROBOMAIL=/OP0
  45.  
  46.     If you change your AUTOEXEC.BAT file, please make sure to re-boot 
  47.     before starting RoboMail again so the variable will be in place.  If 
  48.     difficulties persist, try the following environment variable:

  50.             SET ROBOMAIL=E:0;/OP0
