  19.         PAF BOOK, The Book Generation Program, will use PAF data files to
  20.         create a book about a selected person (RIN).  Output can be routed
  21.         to a file or printer.  The internal PAF notes and external note
  22.         files may optionally be included.

  24.         The Henry Number System (with some modifications) is used to 
  25.         number individuals. The numbering system consists of assigning the
  26.         original ancestor the number "1". Each succeeding generation then
  27.         takes the father's number and adds a digit from "1" up in the
  28.         order that the children are stored in the database. Thus if the
  29.         ancestor is John Smith and he is numbered "1" then his second
  30.         child would be numbered "12". Then "12"'s third child would be
  31.         "123".

  33.         A study of this system will reveal many uses of these numbers. The
  34.         number of digits in a number indicates the individual's
  35.         generation. Using a person's number you may refer to their
  36.         ancestor in any previous generation without tracing back
  37.         generation by generation. If you know the numbers assigned to any
  38.         two or more persons, their relationship at once becomes apparent.
  39.         After every third generation a "-" is added to separate the number
  40.         and make it easier to read. Thus the fourth generation number
  41.         would look as follows: "123-4".  The index uses the number that is
  42.         given to a individual and not the page number of the book.
