  19.         The note pad for an individual in PAF is not necessarily a
  20.         contiguous string of records unless all notes for that individual
  21.         are entered at one time.  If other individuals are added, and
  22.         other notes are added, then extending the notes for an earlier
  23.         individual will result in a fragmented NOTES2.DAT file.

  25.         Using NOTECLEN will de-fragment the NOTES2.DAT file during the
  26.         process of removing all unused note records resulting in
  27.         contiguous note pad records for any one individual.  This will
  28.         speed up the access to notes from PAF especially if there are
  29.         several records for each individual in your database.

  31.         NOTECLEN cannot be used on External PAF notes.  Since these notes
  32.         use the INDIV2.DAT file ID pointer rather than the Note Pad
  33.         pointer, and External Notes are selected in the PAF CONFIG, the
  34.         accidental use of NOTECLEN on data of this type should have no
  35.         serious ill effects.
