  18.         The descendants charts produced by FR and PAFUTIL are woefully
  19.         inadequate. Particularly annoying is the abbreviation of dates
  20.         (born BEF 1988 becomes 1988 etc.) and names: with long surnames,
  21.         all given names sometimes reduce to a single initial.  Dave Hurd
  22.         wrote a program which was a vast improvement, and which has now
  23.         been rewritten to display more information and also do `cascading
  24.         descendants charts.'  This option displays all of an individual's
  25.         blood relations with spouses, printing one descendants chart for
  26.         each ancestral couple (parents, both sets of grandparents, four
  27.         sets of grandparents, and so on, if present in the database).

  29.         Additional features enable CASCADE to print basic information for
  30.         all the blood relations of any individual in the PAF data base.
  31.         The cascading pedigree charts option in PAFUTIL prints pedigree
  32.         charts with all of the individual's ancestors; it also has an
  33.         option to print a family group record for each ancestral couple.
  34.         The cascading descendants charts option in this program instead
  35.         prints a descendants chart for each of these couples.

  37.         Duplication is avoided by indicating under the parent on the
  38.         grandparents' chart which descendants chart contains (starting on
  39.         its first page) the parent's own descendants, rather than
  40.         reproducing these three times (on the parents' own chart, and on
  41.         the chart of each set of grandparents); and so on for earlier
  42.         generations. This cross referencing also works for any family
  43.         which is doubly related to the root individual. The second time
  44.         the family is encountered, a message is printed referring to the
  45.         page/chart where that family and its descendants are printed.
