MMDCD
CD Extension for MMDups
MMDups is a great super smashing program, but if you have a CD-ROM
available for your users, it could take quite a while DIRing all the
directories.
For that purpose, you can use MMDCD.
MMDCD takes in a list of files in the following format:
FILENAME.EXT
or
FILENAME EXT
It doesn't matter if there is text after the file name, or if there
is more than one file per line (MMDCD can distinguish between names
and pieces of text e.g. area names etc).
Usage:
MMDCD INFILE OUTFILE
Where INFILE is, for instance, CD.LST, and OUTFILE is, say, CD.TXT.
To use CD.TXT, first use MMDUPS on it, and then copy it to your MMDUPS
directory:
MMDUPS CD.TXT OTHERS.TXT
COPY OTHERS.TXT \WC30\MMDUPS
This operation need only be performed once, unless you change your CD-ROM.
Be sure that OTHERS.TXT is in the MMDups directory.
That's it!
******************* NOTICE **********************
These programs have been running on my BBS and so far have not caused
any kind of problem, but in the interest of security to your data, you
should (as you should anyway) make FREQUENT BACKUPS of your important
BBS data, ESPECIALLY the user database (ALLUSERS.DAT)!
I make no warranties as to the suitability of this program, and accept
no responsibility for any loss of any kind resulting from its use.
Any bug reports or feedback, either positive or negative, or sug-
gestions to improve this program are welcome! This program is
FreeWare, but only if distributed in the MMDUPSXX.ARJ archive (or .ZIP
etc)
Also please note that the registered version of MMDups will include
personalised screens, and a free disc containing my next project!
