FileFinder New Entry Help:
When you first enter into the "NewFile"
screen, the next file number will be in
the FileNumber field. This is for reference
only, and cannot be modified. Even if you
do change it, the same number originally
displayed will be used. Also, this file
will be displayed. From then on, you are
on your own....
1: [SearchName]
The first thing that you should do is enter
in a "SearchName". This name is to enable
the program to find your entry VIA a unique
name. Also note that it is a priority field.
That means that you cannot save your entry
without filling in this field.
<all other fields can be
left blank....if you want>
2: [FileName]
Next is the "FileName". This is your own
personal name for your file. This is only
required for the printing process. It will
be used as your header name. It also gives
you a rough idea what the heck the file is
for.
3: [FileNumber]
This field is generated by the program and
cannot be changed at all. You can go into
the field and amend the number, but the
program will still save the original one
generated
<reference only>
4: [DateEntered]
This field has been left up to the user
(you), so you can input the date any way
you wish. Thereby creating a format that
is pleasing to yourself. Therefore, no
search can be effected VIA the date of
entry.
5: [BriefDescription]
Well, this field is not that brief. This
is a complete "LOG" where you can enter a
description (contents) of the file. This
can be any length, but is advised that you
do not make it to long.
6: [SAVE BUTTON]
The "save button" is just that. It will
save your entry to the "Filefinder", file
& clear all the fields.
The FileNumber field will display the next
number in sequence.
7: [HELP BUTTON]
The "help button" will display the main
help file.
8: [EXIT BUTTON]
The "exit button" will exit you back to the
main menu. If the SearchName field is not
nil (there is something in the field), then
you will be prompted to save your entry
(yes/no).
9: [CLEAR BUTTON]
If you happen to make an eror on input....
you do not have to manually delete each
field. The "clear button" will blank out
all of the fields except the quick help
and the File Number.
