  53. |DRIVER DISKETTE'S VERSION 1.04 AND BELOW ARE ALSO AFFECTED.

  55. |THE SYSTEM HANG IS CAUSED BY THE MISPLACEMENT OF COMMANDS IN                   
  56. |THE CONFIG.SYS FILE DURING INSTALLATION OF EITHER THE IMAGE

  64. |APPROPRIATE PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SOFTWARE SHOULD                         
  65. |FOLLOW THESE STEPS LISTED FOR THE APPLICABLE CASES BELOW:

  68. |CASE #1 - OS/2 2.0 BASE IS ALREADY INSTALLED AND THE IMAGE   |                 
  69. |          ADAPTER/A AND ES OR LS WILL BE INSTALLED.          |

  72. |1) INSTALL ES OR LS AS INSTRUCTED BY THE DOCUMENTATION THAT                    
  73. |   ACCOMPANIES THE PRODUCT.

  75. |2) INSTALL THE IMAGE ADAPTER/A ACCORDING TO THE INSTRUCTIONS                   
  76. |   CONTAINED WITH THAT OPTION.  WHEN OS/2 PROMPTS THE                          
  77. |   USER TO "REBOOT THE SYSTEM FOR THE CHANGES TO TAKE EFFECT",                 
  78. |   DO NOT REBOOT.

  80. |3) RETURN TO THE OS/2 DESKTOP AND USING THE SYSTEM EDITOR                      
  81. |   (E.EXE), EDIT THE CONFIG.SYS FILE LOCATED IN THE ROOT                       
  82. |   DIRECTORY AS FOLLOWS:                                                       
  83. |                                                                               
  84. |   A. MOVE THE LINE:  "DEVICE=C: OS2 XGARINGO.SYS"  BELOW THE                  
  85. |      LINE THAT READS:  "FILES=XX  (WHERE XX=20, 30 OR ETC.)                   
  86. |                                                                               
  87. |4) SAVE THE CONFIG.SYS FILE AND EXIT THE EDITOR.                               
  88. |                                                                               
  89. |5) RETURN TO THE DESKTOP AND PERFORM AN ORDERLY SHUTDOWN OF                    
  90. |   OS/2.  THE SYSTEM CAN NOW BE REBOOTED.                                      
  91. |

  124. |   INSERT DISKETTE 1 INTO DRIVE A:.                                            
  125. |                                                                               
  126. |2) AT THE "WELCOME TO OS/2" INSTALLATION SCREEN ON DISKETTE #1,                
  127. |   PRESS ESCAPE TO EXIT TO THE A: PROMPT.                                      
  128. |                                                                               
  129. |3) CHANGE TO THE DRIVE PROMPT THAT OS/2 2.0 HAS BEEN INSTALLED                 
  130. |   (C:).  ISSUE THE FOLLOWING COMMANDS THAT WILL REPLACE THE                   
  131. |   CONFIG.SYS FILE IN THE ROOT DIRECTORY WITH A BASE CONFIG.SYS                
  132. |   FILE THAT WILL ALLOW OS/2 TO REBOOT.

  134. |           A. RENAME CONFIG.SYS CONFIG.OLD                                     
  135. |           B. CD OS2 INSTALL                                                   
  136. |           C. COPY CONFIG.SYS C:

  138. |4) REBOOT OS/2 2.0 FROM THE HARDFILE.                                          
  139. |                                                                               
  140. |5) WHEN THE SYSTEM HAS COMPLETED THE IPL OF OS/2 2.0,                          
  141. |   EXIT TO AN OS/2 FULL SCREEN OR WINDOW AND ERASE THE                         
  142. |   CONFIG.SYS FILE THAT WAS COPIED TO THE ROOT                                 
  143. |   DIRECTORY.  RENAME CONFIG.OLD TO CONFIG.SYS.
