I have always had appallingly bad service here, and average food.
Stick to Japantown. (Vicinity of Taylor and First)

Great, but pricey. Just as good and more reasonable is the new
Sport's City Cafe at San Jose Live (the Pavilion by the Fairmont).

Emile's is pricey but worth every penny.
Add C'est Bon on San Pedro. Less expensive, great food, quirky
service. Plan on spending the whole evening.

Add the Old-Fashioned Spaghetti Factory for pasta. The Tied house
in Mt. View has always had good food, but I've been less impressed
with the downtown location.

I like Armadillo Willy's. 3 locations, Mt. View/Los Altos, Cupertino
and the new one at San Tomas and Homestead (is that Sunnyvale?)
Who is asking?
