THE ASSITANCE OF DON SIMMONS.
THIS TRANS-ATLANTIC EFFORT HAS PRODUCED ANOTHER
EXCELLENT REF FILE. DON SIMMONDS FLIES THE A320
FOR CANADIAN AIRLINES INTERNATIONAL AND WAS
ABLE TO GIVE SOME FEEDBACK ABOUT THE A321.
SOME OF HIS COMMENTS...
GROUND HANDLING INCLUDIND BREAK-AWAY THRUST, TURNING
RADIUS, ACCELERATION, DECELERATION, AND COCKPIT EYE
LEVEL ARE ALL "SPOT-ON".
TAKEOFF AND INITIAL CLIMB ARE VERY REALISTIC,
INCLUDING BODY ANGLE AND ACCELERATION THRU GEAR
AND FLAP RETRACTION SEQUENCE.
CRUISE: ROLL RATE AND RATE OF TURN COMPARE FAVORABLY
WITH PAST EXPERIENCE WITH THE A320. THE TENDANCY
FOR BANK ANGLE TO REMAIN STABLE (NEUTRAL STABILITY)
DURING TURNS IS VERY ACCURATE. EXTERIOR VIEW OF
THE BODY ANGLE LOOKS GREAT AND IS PROBABLY
VERY ACCURATE.
APPROACH AND LANDING WERE A JOY. FLIGHT CONTROL
RESPONSE WAS VERY ACCURATE AND AIRCRAFT BODY ANGLE AT
TYPICAL APPROACH SPEEDS VERY BELIEVABLE.
