  1. HALCYON is an excellent set of Turbo Pascal routines for management of dBase
  2. files in a network environment.  They work in real or protected mode under
  3. all versions of Object Oriented Turbo Pascal, including Turbo Pascal for
  4. Windows.  Halcyon allows creation, use and updating of multiple dBase .NDX
  5. or Clipper .NTX index files in accessing the dBase III and IV data (DBF) and
  6. memo (DBT) file entries.  The simple user interface makes the 'object' part
  7. of object oriented programming transparent.  The programmer simply uses a
  8. set of commands similar to the dBase commands to control the file access.
  9. All source is included, and does all of the above using only Pascal--no
  10. assembly routines are used.  The use of Pascal does not mean the routines
  11. are slow.  On the contrary, the file updates are FAST, showing what can be
  12. accomplished within the optimized and powerful Turbo and Borland Pascal
  13. compiler.  Over 25 demonstration programs are provided to show the power of
