- ** PC owners! ... Still playing MODS through the speaker ?? :) ... **
-
- No ... you got fed up too. OK so what are you using now? .. Soundblaster?
- LPT1 and LPT2 in some strange combination?...Forget them ...
-
- I have designed and built a little interface which plugs into a slot in the
- PC or AT ... using 4 addresses in memory it allows programs like MODPLAY
- to really do their stuff, in *STEREO* too. Four channels of 8 bit sound and
- not really that expensive either.
-
- Compare with using LPT1 or Soundblaster. 8 bit accuracy, and what do you
- get if you take four 8 bit samples and mix them ?? A 10 bit answer. So
- even using LPT1 and 2 you only get 9 bit accuracy. By using this card you
- get the full 10 bit accuracy.
-
- Card contains a quad DAC chip, custom EPROM, 1W power amp chip and a
- quad opamp. If you want the circuit, notes on construction, setting up and
- use etc, just send to the address below either :-
-
- UK - A cheque/p.o for 3 pounds, which covers the circuit, post+packing
- - Three pounds cash, but wrap it well!
- - or three High Density Disks (blank | formatted | with files on .... )
-
- Europe/Rest of world
- - Euro Cheque etc made out in *pounds sterling* for 4 pounds
- - Four HD Disks ....
- - Or put 6 US dollars in a (preferably registered) envelope
-
- * No Cheques in non Sterling Currency please! * .. By the time the bank
- charge me for converting it ... there's nothing left :-)
-
- Put in a note with your name,address,postcode/zipcode and an Email address
- (I will confirm receipt)
-
- Compatible with MODPlay 2.19b (c) Mark Cox, also useable as a "Stereo on
- LPT1 and LPT2" for within MODEDIT etc ...(ie can appear as LPT port(s)
-
- Tested and works perfectly in my 286 AT, and uses either an 8 or 16 bit slot.
- Not hard to build, especially if your not squeamish about plugging cards into
- your machine that you built! ...
-
- If you have no access to an EPROM programmer, I could progam the EPROM for
- you, or you could actually do it by hand ... This is not a joke! See Docs
- for details!
-
- Could also be converted to run on other machines that will allow user-defd
- DAC ports, I need some help from other hackers to do that....hint hint....
