  1. One of the nearest stars visible to the naked
  2. eye, 11.9 light years from Earth in the
  3. constellation Cetus. It has a diameter
  4. slightly less than that of the Sun, and an
  5. actual luminosity of about 45% of the Sun's.
  6. Its similarity to the Sun is sufficient to
  7. suggest that Tau Ceti may possess a planetary
  8. system, although observations have yet to
  9. reveal definite evidence of this.
