Introduction...
Marble Guess is a board game where the object is to guess the hidden
marbles is the least amount of moves. Sound familiar? Its actually based on
the classic game of Master Mind. I recently downloaded a rendition of Master
Mind and played a few games. The game was fun to play but not very fun to
look at, it was text based and no mouse support. I thought I could do a
better job by creating my own rendition using the 256 color VGA mode and
and adding mouse support. So what you see here is the end result.
Instructions...
After running the program you will see a metallic colored board on the
left side of the screen. If you look closely you will see a blue arrow which
points to the current row. This is the row where you place your marbles. You
can select a different marble by simply pointing to it. The red arrow
indicates the current color. After you have chosen your marbles for the
current row press the RIGHT mouse button.
Every time a row is completed the computer plots a combination of stars to
let you know how well your guess was. A red star indicates that one of your
marbles is in the correct spot. A blue marble indicates that your marble is
in the wrong spot. You have 15 chances to guess the hidden marbles, after
your last chance the computer will reveal the hidden marbles.
By selecting the menu you can:
Start a new game
Quit (will also reveal the hidden marbles)
Continue (allow you to go back and continue your game)
Exit to dos
