Champions of Zulula
Troubleshooting / Technical support
(C) 1994 Oracle Software Enr.

Requirements:
- This game requires 1 meg of memory (either 540k conventionnal + 64k EMS or
610k conventionnal)
- This game was tested ok under Windows. However, with the many different
Windows configurations, it may not work properly on your system. We
recommend launching this game from DOS.
- We also recommend launching the game from a clean DOS environment (no TSRs),
or menu shells.
- Champions of Zulula requires DOS 5.0 or greater (because of the memory
requirements)
Problem #1
P: The game locks up during the checkup screen
C: - You sound card is not 100% adlib compatible
- Your EMS driver is not 100% EMM386 compatible
- You may not have enough memory (See problem #3 for more info)
S: You can use the following switches to disable
testing:
ZULULA /noems
ZULULA /noadlib
WARNING: Running the game with the switch /noems will switch the game into
all conventionnal mode. In this mode, it requires 610k free RAM.
Problem #2
P: The joystick don't work, my characters seems to run in random directions.
C: - The joystick is not calibred
- Your machine is too fast to read the joysticks properly
S: You can calibrate the joystick by going to the Options menu (flying
pyramid) and choose "CALIBRATE JOYSTICK". Then follow the instructions.
If the joystick still acts awkward, remove the turbo from your machine.
Note: The joystick routines were tested OK on machines slower or equal to
a 486dx-33
Problem #3
P: Some sprites don't appear, or I get OUT OF MEMORY errors...
C: Your system has insufficient conventionnal memory
S: - Remove TSRs, and run Champions of Zulula from a clean DOS environment
- Add a 100% EMM386 compatible EMS driver.
Problem #4
P: The music runs too slowly
C: The joystick are interfering with the music (on slower machines)
S: Turn off the joysticks, or sound card.
Problem #5
P: I have a VGA card, but the checkup screen don't detect it.
C: You VGA card is incompatible with the detection routines.
S: Answer "Yes" to the query "Continue anyway". If the game
don't work even if you answer yes, you may not have a 100%
compatible VGA card.
Command live parameters:
Here is a list of parameters Champions of Zulula will understand
/noems : Used to disable checking for EMS memory. Useful in helping
to solve memory manager conflicts.
/noadlib : This will disable the adlib detection, so that music, and
sound will not play.
Also, deleting ZULULA.CFG will restore default configuration.
