Patrick Lockley, a Boston based artist, is attracted to digital artwork because of the range of freedom it allows. "If I were working with photographs using razor blades and glue, it would require that all the decisions be made up front as to how the finished image should look. But once a set of photographs are digitized, I'm allowed the luxury of experimentation, trial and error, and, ultimately, the freedom to be curious. I don't buy into the argument that powerful images must be envisioned before they are created. To me, this limits the creative process. I think my better images are created when I keep the contributions of my conscious thought process to a minimum."
