  2.            PASSWORD SYSTEM EMPLOYED IN SUPER-MEMO SOFTWARE

  5. In consequence of insufficient legal protection of copyrighted materials,
  6. SuperMemo World decided to employ software protection of its products in
  7. the form of a password checking system.
  8. The password protection pertains to SuperMemo software release 5 and 6,
  9. and does not concern SuperMemo shareware.
  10.  
  11. The password checking procedures are activated periodically, not more
  12. often than once a month per single SuperMemo database.
  13. Passwords are unique for different registered users and for different
  14. months.
  15. At the moment of purchase the user obtains an initial collection of
  16. passwords for a limited period, and the remaining passwords are mailed
  17. periodically until the expiry date (if any).
  18. Each times a collection of password is handed or mailed, the deadline for
  19. mailing the next collection is determined as 3 months before the due
  20. date of the first missing password.
  21. For example, if passwords comprise the months January 1992 through
  22. December 1992, the due date of the first missing password is January 1993,
  23. and the deadline for sending it is the end of September 1992.
  24. If for any reasons, the due passwords are not delivered before one month
  25. after the sending deadline, please contact SuperMemo World immediately.
  26. In case of address change, please send a note to SuperMemo World at least
  27. two months before the sending deadline for the next collection of passwords.
  28. For the address change to be valid do include the following:
  29.     - your registration number
  30.     - your old address
  31.     - your new address
  32.     - the date on which the change comes to force
  33.     - last password of your recent collection of passwords with the
  34.       month on which it will be asked.
