- References to self-extracting zips may actually be in .ZIP or .ARJ
- format instead of .EXE . If so you will need the named extraction
- utility found on most bbs's.
-
- WARNING: There are 2 versions contained on this disk.
- The files of both versions are named the same (Px.1). If you
- overwrite the files with the second version, the program won't work
- the same.
-
- The different versions are contained in 2 separate self-extracting zip
- files names HP2.EXE and HP3.EXE. The main difference is because the HP-II
- cannot print white text on a black background. Instead, a substitute
- header of 20% grey screen with bold black letters has been created.
-
- Installation:
-
- Install the files in your WP data directory, along with your other
- document files or make a separate directory for all of your 171 data
- (C:\WP51\171). Copy all of the files, but only one of the primary.1 sets
- (as indicated below) for the printer you have.
-
- You will activate the version you want to use by executing either HP2
- or HP3. These are self extracting compressed zip files. You will
- do this only once, to extract the appropriate files into a directory
- on your hard drive... You will use ONLY one of these versions.
-
- (NOTE: For shareware evaluation, The HP-II set contains ONLY two
- pages. This is to allow an evaluation of how the package works and
- what the print output looks like. The HP-III version will print,
- but the bold black bar with white text won't.)
-
- HP2.EXE- For printers that cannot print White text on a black background.
- HP series II. NOTE: If you don't have a scalable font, you
- will need to change the 7pt style to actually print a 6 pt size.
- You WILL need a proportionally spaced font, either cartridge
- or a downloadable soft font that is usable from Wordperfect.
- The built in fonts are not sufficient.
-
- HP3.EXE- For printers that CAN print white text on black background.
- HP series III, Cannon LBP-4, LBP-8. These printers have
- scaleable fonts built in.
-
- Two other sets of files you will want to extract are the test files
- and the actual data files. These are called Test.EXE and Data.EXE.
- These are the same for both versions. Just copy the files into your
- 171 data directory and type their Filename to activate the self
- extracting zip file.
-
- You will use these files to check the space allowed by your font for
- text to be typed in each field and to customise your forms. When
- everything is printing correctly, you may delete the test files but
- retain all files that have the extension '.1 & .2 '.

- Revision History
-
- 3-19-92
- 1.18 There are NO versions 1.15, 1.16 or 1.17. Versions 1.14a,
- 1.14b and 1.14c were maintenance releases for registered users.
- Those fixes are incorporated in this set of files. Versions
- 1.14b and prior are obsolete and buggy, do not use them.
-
- Some revisions are made in this set of files, for the shareware
- version only. Not all forms are complete and/or included. The
- intent of this version is to allow evaluation and promote
- registrations.
- Reports have trickled in of widespread use and the few
- number of registrations has caused me to reconsider
- releasing a fully working package as uninhibited shareware.
-
- This release have been changed to "Evaluationware"
-
- You can probabaly thank the government employee who, while
- inquiring about a reduced cost site license for several hundred,
- made the comment that if I didn't wish to meet their budget,
- "they could just download it off a BBS and use it for free".
-
- Of course this ticked me off and here is my answer to that
- attitude. With this release, only those who register will
- recieve the complete package and extra forms .
-
- I'm sorry I have to do it this way, but I, like other
- software authors, have to eat too and the price asked
- certinly isn't too much to pay for what you get.
-
- A full revision history is included with registration.
- along with the latest updates of following forms:
-
- + All pages - removal of unregistered evaluation notices
- + macro to strip comments from merge files.
- + Except for two evaluation pages, the complete set of HP-II
- files has been striped from this version. This should be
- plenty for HP-2 users to see what the printout will look
- like. Registered users get both the HP-II & HP-III versions.
