  1. References to self-extracting zips may actually be in .ZIP or .ARJ 
  2. format instead of .EXE . If so you will need the named extraction 
  3. utility found on most bbs's.

  5. WARNING: There are 2 versions contained on this disk. 
  6. The files of both versions are named the same (Px.1). If you 
  7. overwrite the files with the second version, the program won't work 
  8. the same.
  9.  
  10. The different versions are contained in 2 separate self-extracting zip
  11. files names HP2.EXE and HP3.EXE.  The main difference is because the HP-II
  12. cannot print white text on a black background. Instead, a substitute
  13. header of 20% grey screen with bold black letters has been created.

  15. Installation:
  16.  
  17. Install the files in your WP data directory, along with your other 
  18. document files or make a separate directory for all of your 171 data 
  19. (C:\WP51\171). Copy all of the files, but only one of the primary.1 sets 
  20. (as indicated below) for the printer you have.

  22. You will activate the version you want to use by executing either HP2
  23. or HP3. These are self extracting compressed zip files. You will 
  24. do this only once, to extract the appropriate files into a directory 
  25. on your hard drive... You will use ONLY one of these versions.
  26.  
  27. (NOTE: For shareware evaluation, The HP-II set contains ONLY two
  28. pages. This is to allow an evaluation of how the package works and 
  29. what the print output looks like.  The HP-III version will print, 
  30. but the bold black bar with white text won't.)

  32. HP2.EXE- For printers that cannot print White text on a black background.
  33.          HP series II. NOTE: If you don't have a scalable font, you 
  34.          will need to change the 7pt style to actually print a 6 pt size.
  35.          You WILL need a proportionally spaced font, either cartridge 
  36.          or a downloadable soft font that is usable from Wordperfect. 
  37.          The built in fonts are not sufficient.

  39. HP3.EXE- For printers that CAN print white text on black background.
  40.          HP series III,  Cannon LBP-4, LBP-8. These printers have 
  41.          scaleable fonts built in. 
  42.  
  43. Two other sets of files you will want to extract are the test files 
  44. and the actual data files. These are called Test.EXE and Data.EXE.
  45. These are the same for both versions. Just copy the files into your 
  46. 171 data directory and type their Filename to activate the self 
  47. extracting zip file.

  49. You will use these files to check the space allowed by your font for 
  50. text to be typed in each field and to customise your forms. When 
  51. everything is printing correctly, you may delete the test files but 
  52. retain all files that have the extension '.1 & .2 '.

  57. 1.18   There are NO versions 1.15, 1.16 or 1.17. Versions 1.14a,
  58.        1.14b and 1.14c were maintenance releases for registered users.
  59.        Those fixes are incorporated in this set of files. Versions 
  60.        1.14b and prior are obsolete and buggy, do not use them.

  62.        Some revisions are made in this set of files, for the shareware 
  63.        version only. Not all forms are complete and/or included. The 
  64.        intent of this version is to allow evaluation and promote 
  65.        registrations.
  66.        Reports have trickled in of widespread use and the few 
  67.        number of registrations has caused me to reconsider 
  68.        releasing a fully working package as uninhibited shareware.

  70.        This release have been changed to "Evaluationware"
  71.  
  72.        You can probabaly thank the government employee who, while 
  73.        inquiring about a reduced cost site license for several hundred, 
  74.        made the comment that if I didn't wish to meet their budget,
  75.        "they could just download it off a BBS and use it for free".

  77.        Of course this ticked me off and here is my answer to that 
  78.        attitude.  With this release, only those who register will 
  79.        recieve the complete package and extra forms .

  81.        I'm sorry I have to do it this way, but I, like other 
  82.        software authors, have to eat too and the price asked 
  83.        certinly isn't too much to pay for what you get.

  85.        A full revision history is included with registration.
  86.        along with the latest updates of following forms:

  88.         + All pages - removal of unregistered evaluation notices
  89.         + macro to strip comments from merge files.
  90.         + Except for two evaluation pages, the complete set of HP-II
  91.           files has been striped from this version. This should be 
  92.           plenty for HP-2 users to see what the printout will look 
  93.           like. Registered users get both the HP-II & HP-III versions.
