- HOW TO MAKE A CLIPBOARD CLIPPING FILE
-
- It's easy to make a clipping file of information as you move through the
- TELEDOX package. Here's how.
-
- First off, a clipping file is just a file you can use to store bits of
- TELEDOX you electronically clip for future reference, just like you'd keep
- a scrapbook of newspaper articles. You can even add your own notes and
- comments.
-
- This program will create a clipping file called CLIP.TXT. To move a section
- of TELEDOX to CLIP.TXT do the following:
-
- 1) If you press the grey plus (+) and minus (-) keys you can move a
- highlighting bar up and down through the text. Using the plus and minus
- keys, move the highlighting bar to the line of text at which you want to
- start the clipping.
-
-
-
-
-
-
- 2) Press the F5 key to anchor the highlight.
-
- 3) Using the Arrow keys, extend the highlighting down to cover the section
- of text you want to clip. You can also use the PGDN and PGUP keys if the
- passage is longer than one screen.
-
- 4) Once you've highlighted the text you want to clip, do one of the
- following:
-
- a) If you want to append the clipping to the information in the CLIP.TXT
- file, press the A key.
-
- b) If you want overwrite the information in the CLIP.TXT file with the
- clipping hold, press the O key.
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
- CLIP.TXT is an ASCII file. It can be edited and read with most word
- processors. Remember, however, that no material in TELEDOX can be used for
- anything other than personal purposes without the written permission of
- Eugene A. Zeak, Jr.
-
- When you save a section of text to CLIP.TXT the clipping will be preceded
- by an angle-bracketed jump to the file the clipping came from. This can be
- handy to explore if you need to get the context of the clipping later on.
-
- To view the clipping file as it is now see <CLIP.TXT>
