  3. Welcome to disc 2 of the February, 1997 edition of the Walnut Creek CICA
  4. for MS Windows CDROM!
  5.  
  6. This disc set contains 1191 MB of Microsoft Windows programs.  It includes
  7. hundreds of utilities, games, fonts, bitmaps, and more, all written
  8. especially for Windows.  The disc is based on the CICA Windows collection
  9. from ftp.cdrom.com.  Most of the files on the disc are in zip format.

  15. 00_index.txt        Top Level index of this disc
  16. 00_index.htm        Index for this CDROM in HTML format.
  17. setup.exe           Windows Installation Program for this CDROM

  22. view.exe            File Browser/Uncompressor for MS-DOS

  33. Quick Start Instructions:
  34.  
  35.   Windows 3.1/NT:
  36.     Go to "File" menu under program manager and choose Run.  At the
  37.     Command Line box, type: "D:\setup", assuming 'D' is your cdrom drive.
  38.     This will install a group folder with icons for this cdrom.
  39.  
  40.   MSDOS Quick Start:
  41.     Change to your CDROM drive and type "view".
  42.     Example:
  43.           C:\> D:
  44.           D:\> view
  45.  
  46.   Windows 95:
  47.     Insert the cdrom into the cdrom drive.  This will automatically
  48.     start a CDROM browser program called WinView.
  49.     Alternatively, you can also install the program group and icon
  50.     by selecting the "Start" menu and choosing "Run".  At the Run
  51.     box, type: "D:\setup", assuming 'D' is your cdrom drive.

  53. Using the 00_INDEX.HTM:
  54.  
  55. We have included 00_index.htm files so the user may use a Web browser
  56. to view our disc.
  57.  
  58. In order to view this disc using these 00_index.htm files, point your
  59. Web browser to the root level 00_index.htm file.

  61. For example, in Netscape:
  62.  
  63.   1. Click on "File"
  64.   2. Click on "Open File"
  65.   3. Choose your CDROM drive
  66.   4. Select the 00_index.htm file
  67.  
  68. In Internet Explorer:

  70.   1. Click on "File"
  71.   2. Click on "Open"
  72.   3. Click on "Browse"
  73.   4. Choose your CDROM drive
  74.   5. Select the 00_index.htm file

  76. The 00_index.htm files have been tested under Netscape 3.0 (Windows,
  77. Macintosh, and FreeBSD), and Internet Explorer 3.0 (Windows).

  81. Some applications require vbrun100.dll, vbrun200.dll, or vbrun300.dll.  These
  82. files are provided in the the VBRUN\ directory of the CDROM.

  86. WinView and View
  87.  
  88. To make browsing the disc easier, we have included the program WinView
  89. for Windows, and the program VIEW for MSDOS on the CDROM.  These programs
  90. allow you to page through index files, browse through directories on the
  91. CD, view documentation and uncompress/install the program(s) you want
  92. onto your hard disk.

  98. This disk contains many shareware programs and images. Shareware can
  99. be considered to be a sort of try before you buy system where you are
  100. expected to pay the program author a registration fee if you find the
  101. program or image useful.  You will find details of registration
