  4. Intro

  7. This is a beta version of a screen saver engine
  8. I am developing, I would appreciate it if everyone
  9. could install this on as many machines as possible
  10. and send details of any crashes (along with full error
  11. messages) to me at the email address given below.

  13. In return I shall email all responders to allow them
  14. to have an exclusive copy of my first screensaver when
  15. fully completed.

  17. Requirements

  20. Just over 1Mb disk space
  21. Windows 3.1+/95/NT(?)
  22. 4Mb of memory
  23. Soundcard (not essential)

  25. Installation

  28. Run the setup.exe program which was contained in the self-extracting
  29. archive.

  31. Please note that the installation program will select your windows
  32. directory, this beta version should only be installed in the default
  33. directory otherwise it won't find required files and will crash, this is
  34. because it doesnt yet create an ini file.

  39. Birdy installs to control panel as any other windows scrsaver does,
  40. currently you can display the settings panel but settings have no affect.

  42. When the screen saver is running you can press the BACKSPACE key to
  43. get to a 'more info' screen, don't forget to close it when you finish
  44. otherwise it defeats the point of the screensaver!  I shall probably
  45. make this box move around if the user doesn't move the mouse etc. after
  46. a set time.

  48. Please feel free to forward any suggestions on what you would like to see
  49. in a screen saver.

  51. If anyone knows of a delphi unit which can play 'mod' music files could
  52. they please let me know, i have seen WGT5.1 for Turbo Pascal 7 which does
  53. this through dos, but haven't come across a windows version as yet.
