The Torok Scheduler 3.0 06/01/94
Copyright (C) 1993, 1994 Michael L. Torok. All Rights Reserved.
This is quick list of things you need to know to run TTS for
those with an aversion to reading documentation.
Version Restrictions
====================
The only difference between unregistered and registered versions
of the Torok Scheduler is the number of program parameters
supported.
The unregistered version of The Torok Scheduler supports only
one (1) set of program parameters, while the registered version
supports up to one hundred (100) sets of parameters.
Conflict Warnings
=================
The Torok Scheduler's internal validation system will conflict
with terminate and stay resident (TSR) virus checkers. When
running TTS during your boot sequence, have it run BEFORE you
load your TSR virus checker. If running TTS after boot up,
disable your TSR virus checker first and enable it again after
TTS is finished.
Getting Started
===============
1) Run INSTALL.EXE
-- will ask whether you are running an older version and
upgrade, if necessary
-- will install the program files on your hard disk
-- will ask if you want TTS included in your boot sequence
(recommended). If so, your AUTOEXEC.BAT file will be
be backed-up to AUTOEXEC.TTS before the appropriate
commands are inserted into AUTOEXEC.BAT. If you choose
not to include TTS in your boot sequence during the
installation procedure, you must insert the appropriate
commands later manually.
2) Run TTS_CFG.EXE
-- select either day of week, or interval schedule
-- enter a customized message to be displayed when the set of
program parameters are run
-- include complete path and file name (with any applicable
command line options) of the program you wish TTS to run
3) Reboot (if TTS included in boot sequence)
4) Read the docs! :)
