  3. Hicksville, NY - PowerBBS for Windows 3.5 has just been released!
  4.  
  5. PowerBBS for Windows is a multi-user BBS that operates as a background 
  6. application in Windows. With PowerBBS you can run a BBS and still use your 
  7. computer for other tasks. File transfers are handled internally. You will 
  8. hardly notice it's there!
  9.  
  10. We're very excited about this new version of PowerBBS. The following is a 
  11. list of the new features included in version 3.5. There were many minor 
  12. enhancements that were not included in this list, but if you look around, 
  13. you'll be sure to notice them!
  14.  
  15. Telnet
  16. *PowerBBS 3.5 will support Telent connections!
  17. *Connect your BBS to any other BBS on the Internet
  18. *Other BBSs on the Internet can Telenet into your BBS!
  19.  
  20. SDK
  21. *New Software Developer Kit will allow programmers to compile C and Pascal 
  22.   DLLs that can be run directly from within PowerBBS via a menu or a 
  23.   PowerLang program!
  24. *Keep an eye out for PowerBBS specific doors and add-ons in the near future
  25. *PowerBBS source code will no longer be distributed
  26.  
  27. Local Screen
  28. *The local screen for PowerBBS has been redone with graphics 
  29. (caller's screen is still displayed in ANSI)  
  30. *Several buttons and toolbar have been added for easier sysop access.
  31. *Graphical quick on-line of upgrade of caller
  32. *Graphical Node Status display
  33. *Start Config, PowerEdit or File List Manager from local screen
  34. *Better local display of colors and low ascii characters
  35. *Quick sysop log-in...just give password and be right at the Main menu
  36. *Graphical file transfer screen
  37. *Transfer screen shows CPS, current file progress & time left and batch

  40. Files
  41. *New File List Manager with 3.5 is written in Pascal to be faster, more 
  42. stable and more easily integrated with PowerBBS
  43. *Direct tech support on our BBS for the new file manager.
  44. *New file manager very easy to use. Sort file lists by date or by name
  45. *New file manager imports DIZ and SDI from ZIPs
  46. Note: The old File List Manager, which was written and supported by Gerrall 
  47. Reeves, will no longer be distributed. Many thanks to Gerral Reeves for 
  48. letting us use his file manager all these years. Please contact Gerral for
  49. more information about his File List Manager.
  50. *New file marking routine for callers: Now uses letters
  51. *Marking routine now checks to see if file exists at time of marking
  52. *Easier to edit marked files
  53. *Caller has option of short two line display or full description display 
  54. when viewing file lists
  55. *Lists now have blank when between each file for easier reading
