  35. Installing JQCALC
  36.  
  37. First you need to set up JQCALC to run on your computer.
  38.  
  39. Microsoft Windows version 3.1 or greater (from now on referred to
  40. as Windows) must be installed on your computer.  For information
  41. on installing and using Windows, please see your Windows
  42. documentation.

  44. Switch on your computer and monitor.
  45.  
  46. 1. Start Windows. If windows is not running, type  WIN  at 
  47.    the command prompt (the  C:>  prompt) and press ENTER.
  48.  
  49. 2. Open the Windows Program Manager window. If the Windows
  50.    Program Manager window is not open, then double-click on
  51.    the Program Manager icon, (or press CTRL+ESC to display
  52.    the Windows Task List, then press the DOWN ARROW or UP
  53.    ARROW key until the Program Manager item is highlighted,
  54.    then press ENTER).

  56. 3. Insert the JQCALC for Windows program disk in your floppy
  57.    disk drive (if you are using a 5 1/4 inch disk or a drive
  58.    that has a door, then close the door).
  59.  
  60. 4. From the Program Manager window, click on the word FILE
  61.    to open the menu and click on RUN, (or press ALT+F, and
  62.    press the R key).
  63.  
  64. 5. In the Command Line box, type   A:\SETUP .
  65.    (If you are using a different drive to drive A:, then
  66.    type the correct drive letter instead of "A:".  e.g. If
  67.    you are using drive B:, then type  B:\SETUP.)
  68.  
  69. 6. Click on the OK button or press ENTER.

  71. 7. Once the Setup Program has loaded, a series of instructions
  72.    is displayed on your screen, just select the options which
  73.    best match your system and requirements.

  75. 8. For users of Windows 3.1 and better JQCALC will create it's
  76.    own Program Group in your Program Manager window.
  77.  
  78. NOTES
  79.  
  80.    The Full Installation (recommended) copies ALL the required
  81.    files to the JQCALC directory. The Minimum Install copies all
  82.    the files EXCEPT for VBRUN300.DLL, DING.WAV and CHIMES.WAV.
  83.    JQCALC will not run without VBRUN300.DLL in either the JQCALC
  84.    directory or your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. The .WAV files
  85.    are optional.

  87.    Check your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory for the file VBRUN300.DLL,
  88.    be careful as you may have files with very similar names (i.e.
  89.    vbrun100.dll or vbrun200.dll). If VBRUN300.DLL is not in your
  90.    \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory you must copy it from the JQCALC
  91.    directory to your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. For more information
  92.    on copying files see your Windows documentation or use this
  93.    example from the DOS prompt.

  95.    COPY C:\JQCALC\VBRUN300.DLL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\VBRUN300.DLL

  97.    No manual is supplied on the disk because the Help file is
  98.    always more up to date and is recompiled every time there is a
  99.    change in the program. If you require a manual then please use
  100.    the Print option in the Help File FILE menu.
