  14.    DigiCard is a powerful  free-form flash card program  that will help
  15.    you remember any information vital to your success.  Whether you are
  16.    a student  or a  working  professional,  you will  find  DigiCard an

  77. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
  78. ===================

  80.    The system configuration required to run DigiCard 2.1 is:
  81.  
  82.    * 386 and above.
  83.    * 4 megs or more of RAM.
  84.    * 2 megs or more of disk space.
  85.    * VGA graphics and up.
  86.    * Windows 3.x and above.
  87.    * A copy of VBRUN300.DLL in your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.

  90. INSTALLATION
  91. ============
  92.  
  93.    1) You have a choice of two methods to install DigiCard 2.1:
  94.     a) Create a temporary directory and unzip the contents of the
  95.        DigiCard zip file into that directory.  OR...
  96.     b) Unzip the contents of the DigiCard zip file onto a floppy
  97.        disk (1.2 or 1.44m). This creates a permanent installation
  98.        disk for DigiCard 2.1 (recommended).
  99.    2) Once you have completed the above, run SETUP.EXE from Windows.
  100.    3) Specify a directory where you want DigiCard to be installed.
  101.    4) Setup will create a DigiCard 2.1 Program Manager group.
  102.    5) If you do not already have the line "SHARE.EXE /L:500" in your
  103.       AUTOEXEC.BAT file, you should add it to enable file sharing under 
  104.       DOS and Windows. After adding this line, reboot your system to
  105.       activate Share.
  106.  
  107.    Note:  DigiCard may be distributed in multiple compressed files.  If
  108.    this is the case, unzip all compressed files into the same directory
  109.    or a single disk before running SETUP.EXE.
  110.  
  111. TROUBLESHOOTING SECTION
  112. -----------------------
  113.    ERROR DURING SETUP:  Please note that  VBRUN300.DLL is required  (in
  114.    the \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory)  for the Setup program to run.  If an
  115.    error  is encountered  during the setup process,  the nature  of the
  116.    error will be reported to you  by Setup.  Errors encountered  during
  117.    setup  are mostly related  to the inability of Setup  to overwrite a
  118.    previous version  of one of the  system files.  You can fix this  by  
  119.    renaming  the extension  of the file  in question  to  .BAK  ( i.e., 
  120.    THREED.VBX to THREED.BAK) and re-installing DigiCard. 
  121.    [To access the file in question, log onto your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM
  122.    directory either from DOS or from File Manager]
  123.  
  124.    ERROR AT RUNTIME:  In order for DigiCard to execute properly, all of
  125.    the system files outlined in the 'Distributed Files' section  (i.e.,
  126.    all .VBX and .DLL files)  must be present in order to run  (normally
  127.    installed to your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory). If for whatever reason 
  128.    a file is missing or a previous version is not replaced by  DigiCard
  129.    Setup,  DigiCard will not run  and the nature of the error should be
  130.    reported to you. You can fix this by simply following the re-install
  131.    procedure outlined above.

  133.    If you encounter an error  while opening a file  (i.e., SAMPLE.CRD),
  134.    make sure that  file sharing  is activated  on your system.  Using a
  135.    text editor, check your AUTOEXEC.BAT file for SHARE.EXE. If Share is
  136.    not present,  add the following line to AUTOEXEC.BAT  (assuming your
  137.    DOS directory is in the path):
  138.  
  139.     SHARE.EXE /L:500
  140.  
  141.    And reboot your computer.  This should fix the problem.  Please note
  142.    that file sharing is innate to Windows for Workgroups and you do not
  143.    need to load SHARE.EXE.

  182.    * GPF when opening large files now fixed.
  183.    * 'Object variable not set' error followed by termination of DigiCard 
  184.      when opening is now eliminated. This error occurred on some users' 
  185.      machines because SHARE.EXE was not loaded.
  186.    * SHARE.EXE is no longer needed, unless the 'Exclusive' flag (in the 
  187.      appropriate .CFG file) is set to false (true is default).

  190.    * To access the 'Go To...' feature, click once on the card number 
  191.      indicator on the toolbar (i.e., 'Card 1 of 51'). The 'Go To...' 
  192.      button is replaced by the 'Scripts' button on the Editor and 
  193.      'Shooter' button on the Viewer.
  194.    * DIGICARD.INI is now located in the DigiCard program directory (you 
  195.      may now delete the DIGICARD.INI file located in the \WINDOWS
